There's no one definitive website that will tell you everything about being vegetarian. www.vegweb.com has recipes and will direct you to other resources for being veg. There are plenty of shopping sites, plenty of sites where you can get a starter guide, and so on and so forth. www.happycow.net and www.vegdining.com are websites that list vegetarian and veg-friendly restaurants. Compassion Over Killing (www.cok.net) even has lists for several specific cities: Washington, DC; Portland, Oregon; Austin, Texas; and Baltimore, Maryland.
There are vegetarian societies that might be able to help you as well.

I have more, but these are some of my favorites. Also, just do some searches such as "vegan health", "vegan recipes", "vegan cooking" "vegan sources of____" (fill in blank of desiered nutrient, such as protein)....
