similar transplants from another human being ???? Even if your live depends on such transplant ?

Note that also a bloob transfusion IS a transplant of a ''liquid tissue'' in medical terms, and also bone marrow from another human for treatment of leukaemia ???

Sad to think such a noble animal survived an attack that long ago just to die from the same treatment present day. Amazing nevertheless =)

"The 49-foot male whale died when it was shot with a similar projectile last month, and the older device was found buried beneath its blubber as hunters carved it with a chain saw for harvesting"

"BOSTON - A 50-ton bowhead whale caught off the Alaskan coast last month had a weapon fragment embedded in its neck that showed it survived a similar hunt — more than a century ago.

Embedded deep under its blubber was a 3 1/2-inch arrow-shaped projectile that has given researchers insight into the whale's age, estimated between 115 and 130 years old.

Calculating a whale's age can be difficult, and is usually gauged by amino acids in the eye lenses. It's rare to find one that has lived more than a century, but experts say the oldest were close to 200 years old."

I'm 14 years old and am a vegetarian. I want to decrease the amount of milk that i drink everyday so, i thought of buying either soy milk or rice milk. But, I dont know which milk i need to drink because I don't know which milk is healthier for a growing teen. Please do not tell me to drink cow's milk because I have already made up my mind anyway. So, any suggestions please?

I read somewhere that that it's a good idea for vegetarians and vegans to get regular or occasional blood tests to check vitamin levels and such. Any info/advice?

why do people choose to be vegetarians? Man is a omniviorus animal and it seems natural to consume at least some meat.

I'm a lacto ovo vegetarian, but my goal is to become vegan. I'm trying to quit consuming dairy, that's why I now buy vegan cheese, yogurt... but I can't find a soy milk that has a nice taste. Which one do you buy? Which soy milk (regular flavor) tastes best? Which soy milk with vanilla flavor tastes best?

There aren't enough of you.

thats all, carry on.

Somehow, i think the world would be a far better place if we all adopted the cruelty free livestyle that you follow and so many of us aspire to.

I have vegetarian friends who still eat campbells soup and other food made with chicken and beef stock. I'm guessing that they just don't realize what they are eating, but are there other vegitarians who eat foods like this, or is simply not eating meat enough to call yourself vegitarian.

I think I could go without meat, at least most meat (I like fish) but I couldn't go without all the foods that include stocks. what do you think?

I've always wondered the point of animal testing...won't animals have different reactions then humans do to products? Is there an alternative to animal testing?

I'm veggie and don't eat dairy but do eat eggs. I think I've just got into a bit of a 'food rut' and I need some new ideas!

Thanks

Hello all

I recently got involved in reading more about animals and slaughter houses etc and decided to go vegetarian. However since I just started I am not calling myself anything until I am completely doing it.
This is the question for people that became vegetarian. Since I started (not eating any red meat, chicken or fish) I’m getting headaches, kind of like a metal or weird taste in my mouth. I also been pretty regular, having way more bowel movements than normal and is weird because I am eating less than before. My stomach was aching a little bit. But somehow now looking at meat gives me just a gross feeling. Not sure why I have been eating meat all my life. I guess after seen all I saw about animas is pretty hard to eat it again.
Are these normal things?

thanks

Suppose everyone became vegetarian. It seems likely that the various species of farm animals would become extinct, or nearly extinct---after thousands of years of breeding, they can no longer survive in the wild, and few if any will continue to be raised by humans if it is not economic to do so.

In other words, suppose you were an intelligent pig or cattle, and where faced with the choice of: (1) living for a while, then being killed and eaten or (2) having your whole species go extinct. Which would you choose?

I have Celiac disease, an acute allergy to peanuts, a mild allergy to legumes and shellfish, and am lactose intolerant. I seem to do best on a diet of meat, fish, eggs, potatoes, rice, leafy green vegetables, and root vegetables, a kind of Japanese diet, minus the Soy. I'm fine on that diet. Adding other vegetables or legumes makes me mildly to badly ill. Suggestions?
