I don't eat most meats.. i only eat chicken and some occasional beef i also don't eat fish. so i'm not vegetarian, what does that make me?

I'm an atheist, so I freely admit that any kind of divine explanation for eating meat is bunk to begin with. However, there seems to be a lot of people who use this odd argument of "God gave us dominion over the animals!" to justify eating meat.

You do realize that you have dominion over your children, too, right?

Vegetarians and vegans think they are doing good. Well I got news for you. If you become a treegan you will be saving the lives off all the insects and small wildlife that was killed while plowing the fields in which vegetables are grown in. Treegans are more extreme then Vegans. We only eat things in the woods like bark, sticks, dead leaves and dead pine needles and sometimes you get a lucky find, a pinecone. Basically you cannot take plants that are alive because then you would be killing them making them suffer. We only eat dead plant life so there is no suffering involved. But before you are allowed to eat anything you must inspect all bark and other matter for bugs because we don't want you killing any innocent insects. Become a treegan today.

Hugs

I mean they only go down one aisle. They must be done in about 7 minutes or so. How long does it take you to get your grocery shopping done?

I was never overweight by much but lost some weight over the winter and recently a little more since I went on a vegan diet (health reasons) I used to be more built (muscle) and now I am just thinner.

I don't know why my wife is telling me that I look bad but I hear it from my mom and her mom as well. I hear that I look thinner from my co-workers too.

I am 5ft 8in and weigh 155 - my doc told me I am healthy after I got tests done.

Do I listen closely to them or not? What do they hope to gain from their comments? Should I go on a SAD diet and get some cheeks?

I'm pretty livid at the moment that in reading tonite after work it seems vegetarians and vegans are the minority even in a section of their own..? I don't have the energy to express all my dissapointments, but this thought crossed my mind.

There is a best answer option, so why not a worst answer option?

For every thumbs down a worst answer received it could receive -1 points plus a -10 by default. I think a penalty hit could be issued too..if a certain person received 5 worst answers in a certain period of time, say a month.. they weren't allowed to answer questions for a period of time, or were reviewed by moderators.or.something.

I know this wouldn't keep away the trolls with so many accounts, but it would keep people who don't belong here, or in other sections from expressing there OPINIONS that don't belong in a question and answer atmosphere UNLESS the question instigated opinions being shared.

this is bout as infantile as white ppl bitchin bout BET. get over it.

My husband just returned from a one year deployment in Iraq and during his absence my son and I became vegetarians. We have been at each others throats about this issue since his return. I need help finding strong scientific facts about what meat does to our bodies. (especially read meat)

Alright here's what I have to say to people who are Vegan's or Vegetarians....

Don't call yourself a Vegan if you own leather or fur in any shape or form (belts, shoes, wallets, car seats, coats, rugs etc...)

If you apply makeup, don't use make up that is animal tested and call your self Vegan/ Vegetarians.

If you get sick, don't take any OVER THE COUNTER OR RX meds. FDA requires animal testing in order to prove toxicity in the drugs.

So, before any of you come to talk & preach the wonderful life of Veganism...think before you speak!

(For those who live life truly on a Vegan lifestyle - more power to you! You've earned my respect).

What are your thoughts on this matter?

If memory serves me right, I have a yellow squash and 2 zucchinis in the fridge. I would like to make something yummy for dinner tonight using one or both of them.

Recipes need not be totally vegan, as I can veganize them myself, but I would like something you have enjoyed yourself and not just random recipes.

Thank you.
:)

You have your vegetarian name but what would a person who does the exact opposite thing be called?

Ok this is a serious question, according to the church a communion wafer is physically (not symbolically but in all actuality) the flesh of Christ.

So therefore would not taking communion be a violation of vegetarian ethics?

(we will deal with symbolic cannibalism later)
