I kind of wish it only took 7 minutes.
We aren't limited to one aisle by any means!
It probably takes me a half an hour, when I go shopping for the month.
I visit all the aisles, (with the exception of the meat, and dairy aisle) and make sure I find everything I need.
It's amazing though, why do people think we're limited to one aisle? What would you think it would be? We're I shop, we do have a separate natural foods section, so... I like to go there, but it's pricey, so I visit it last!

I shop the whole store except for dairy and meat- but still have to go to dairy to get soymilk and soy margarine. I hit all the isles... I wonder what people think we eat? Only lettuce and carrots?
My husband would probably beg to differ with you because I am in a store forever!
I read all labels, I even call companies while in the store to check on the product if I dont understand something, want to know if they animal test or if I want to know the derivative of an ingredient...
I like to bargain shop and it takes me forever.

If I'm buying monthly supplies from Whole Foods
(i.e. cereals, grains, nuts, seeds, yeast flakes,
legumes) it usually takes about an hour and a half
because I'm collecting things out of bins.
My day to day veggies take a few minutes to pick
up. I only go a couple times a week to a farmer's
market or I use stuff out of my garden.

The only aisle I don't go down is the meat aisle!
Still go to cheese, yoghurt, juice, household goods, toiletries, bread, eggs, pasta, tins, frozen, drinks, tea/coffee, biscuits, crisps, fruit, veg, salad etc. !

I'm not totally veggie, but I can be in and out of the store in 10 minutes. Whether veggie or not, if you know where everything is and going during off-peak hours, it's a snap.

this is a dumb question.
Aside from not hitting the meat & seafood departments, their shopping patterns would be the same as anyone elses.
They would shop produce, if they aren't vegan, they would shop dairy & cheese, they might pick up beer or wine, and get dessert from the bakery.
Maybe think about questions more in depth before you ask them.

We only go down one aisle? My supermarket does not have grains, condiments, salad dressings, household stuff, veggies, frozen foods etc in just one aisle.

Actually, smart-aleck, it takes me at least an hour because I shop at an all vegetarian natural foods market ( http://www.insiderpages.com/b/4643035094 ) that has far fewer products filled wtih CRAP than your typical big corporation super market. So there.

7 min. in produce/fresh fruit & veg, bulk nuts, grains, beans, and coffee
4 min. in tomato sauce/pasta, flours and baking items
1 min. in nondairy milk and tofu, cereal section
0-1 min. in toothpaste, etc. section
1 min. in oil, juice, soy sauce, etc. section
1 min. in beans, if needed
1 min. in paper towels, etc.
I'd say tops 20 min., but I've been vegan for a while and know which brands I choose and prefer, so I just grab and go. I also organize my list by section/how the store is arranged.
