I don't hate meat eaters. I used to be one until I wanted to eat more healthily so gradually cut down on meat amounts. As time went on I became more aware of the other issues associated with eating meat--like the cruelty involved in the business. I would expect a meat eating friend to try to help get better and more humane care of market animals as a goal and to try to make sure that the meat they ate came from a farm where cows could graze, chickens could run---not one where they are stashed in filth by the hundreds and then tortured even more in transit and in the slaughter house.
I know that in my lifetime everyone won't be a vegetarian, but we can --and indeed are morally obliged, in my opinion---to make sure market animals do not suffer while being raised and while being sent to market and while being killed for human consumption.

I am currently married to a man that eats meat. However, I also did when we got together. We are both still very civil to eachother when it comes to our differences in food, and he is learning to accept that I will most likely never eat meat again. So no hatred what so ever!

I would date/marry/befriend an omnivore, a vegetarian, or a vegan. After all, even within each of those categories you can find people who eat things you wouldn't or who won't eat things that you do. After all, eating habits aren't something that can't be accommodated if the people are mutually restpectful. There is much more to a relationship than what a person eats. Now I can understand that for some this would be more of an issue because of the *reason* they are an omnivore, vegetarian, or vegan; but I respectfully leave that up to them.

How many times is this same question going to be asked?

For the record, I have never dated a vegetarian, because to be honest I've never met another one in real life. Anyway there are lots of reasons to choose a boyfriend/girlfriend, and eating habits are not at the top of my list. It's much more important to me that he not be a fascist or illiterate, or the type of person who thinks vegetarians hate meat eaters.

I have dated meat eaters before, there was no problem. As long as the person didn't try and push thier meat eating on me than there is no problem.

In fact all the meat eaters I've dated have been very respectful. One even asked if I minded if he ate a steak on our first date, I thought that was really sweet, and told him I didn't mind him eating the way he liked.

I'm the only veggie in my family (husband and two kids). When I cook they eat veggie, when hubby cooks they eat meat, and when the kids cook it's about 50-50.

I can't even remember ever dating another veg-head. So no, I don't hate you for eating meat, but I don't want the pepperoni grease soaking into the crust on my half of the pizza either!

I am a vegetarian and am in a relationship with a "meat-eater". Sometimes she gives me crap because I won't eat certain things, but there aren't any hard feelings. At least I don't think, but who knows what she thinks. ;-)

My best friends all eat meat and so does my husband. Hate? Isn't that a tad paranoid? No..I do not hate for that although I sometimes question the common sense and empathy.

not you Kevin, no.

But girlie meat-eaters ? well, i have done so, no problem. Although i did walk out on a date once when she chose the Salmon...it stank.

She is still probably confused to this very day. She was way out of my league and i think i threw her confidence !

I don't hate meat-eaters.

I only date vegans or near-vegans. I just am not compatible with someone who commits, as I view it, violent, harmful, and unnecessary acts. I will befriend omnivores and I have no hatred for them. What makes you think that because someone doesn't want to date you that they, therefore, have hatred for you?
