My whole family is vegan and it would be nice to be able to buy a cake every so often instead of always having to bake it ourselves. Thanks!

So who's here? Vegans? Occasional "bascksliders?" Tell me what kind of vegetarian you are.

I have been a lacto-ovo vegetarian since I was 10. That's 17 years now. I have backslid a couple times (tuna sandwich or something) but I bet it's less than 10 times in those 17 years. But all in all, I condsider myself pretty faithful to my decision.

I would like to be vegan, but I have never managed to have the willpower.. I ADORE Miracle Whip, for one thing, and still crave it. I am not picky about veganism at restraunts. Sure, i'll eat the chese or the eggs. I do love chese. BUT it should be noted that pretty much everythin in my house is vegan. It's only when I eat out that I let it slide. But I would be careful to not call myself a real Vegan. Almost vegan.. mostly vegan.. but not Vegan.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it! LOL.. tell me about your diet.

I have been drinking lots of fresh coconut milk and I want to know if it is healthy. I make it myself, I do not buy it from the store in cans.

Hi. I have a little one (almost 3) who is on a somewhat restricted diet and we're concerned he's not getting enough protein. We're a vegetarian family (that's non-negotiable...no meat sources) which is never a problem before. But, we've identified that he has a nut allergy which eliminates that protein source and he's highly sensitive to soy. He will eat homemade macaroni and cheese but not cheese slices and he doesn't care for eggs (blech!) or cow milk. That leaves beans and peas but there's just so much of that you can make a child eat on a daily basis. Other than making protein shakes (which seems overkill, plus it's better to EAT your food, not drink it), do you have any other suggestions for protein?

(Not to be rude but editorials about how we "must" eat meat are unwelcome and unhelpful.)

Thanks for your help in advance!

The recipe calls for 3 eggs, 1 1/4 cups of water, and 1/2 cup oil, plus the cake mix. I know I can sub applesauce for the eggs, but how much should I use?

I've always been a veggie and I'm proud of it and I have a lot of good reasons, but I'm really bad at arguing the point. I don't need to convince the world that it's a better way to live. How can I avoid having to explain myself every time I eat out and request the veggie meal? I travel a lot and in other cultures they really don't get it and I'm sick of trying to explain it, or having to go through the same conversation a million times over... any ideas on how to just skip over the issue and talk about something else?? Thanks :-)

Yeah, it's that time of day again. My problem is that neither my bf or I have had much of an appetite lately (I think it's the season change), and therefore there's zero inspiration for dinner. Still, we have to eat! Any suggestions for what we should make tonight? The fridge is fairly well stocked, and I think we have quite a bit of salad to use up, but not as a main course. 10 points to the recipe we choose. :-)

Btw, I tried all the potato inspired recipes from last time, and really enjoyed them all. Thanks!

One of my staff is a vegetarian but remembers loving meatloaf! Since her last day at work is coming up on the 28th, I wanted to try to make something that would satisfy her craving while sticking with the vegetarian diet she prefers. Help!

I've never considered myself a vegetarian since I do eat meat sometimes. But I notice, I just don't feel like eating it at all now for some months now (pretty close to a year since, actually). Is there anything I should be eating to give me more energy, that isn't meat ?

We all know that you are bored and possibly delusional, so how about you get yourself some help instead of trolling around the forum annoying everyone, and let the people that do want to know more about vegetarians and vegans do there thing instead. Yes we feel very bad that you committed a crime while on tofu, yes we all can't sleep at night because we eat fruit, yes we throw food at the wait staff when we see meat, or if our food has any meat products in it, yes we eat animal crackers, and we cry at chick flicks, and we hug a tree every day we get off work, and we starve our families with veggies. Now that I answered all your stupid questions, how about you annoy another forum.

I was in the store the other day and wanted to buy a juicer but decided to wait. Today I saw the Jack LaLanne model on TV. I was impressed by the price ($100) but saw that the warranty is only good for 60 days. Now I am really suspicious.
