I can't resist a perfectly ripened tomato fresh off the vine from my own backyard! But freshly-picked raw green beans are delicious too, and zucchini is awesome. It's hard to decide!

So, what vegetable screams "SUMMER!" to you?

I became a vegetarian a few years ago, gradually like, and the last thing I gave up was chicken and turkey. I still eat seafood occasionaly, but nothing other than that. And I don't know, I was thinking of maybe going back to eating chicken and turkey every now and then, just because I was thinking about it, its so inconvenient now, everything is turkey this chicken that. And I wouldn't eat it much, and I would never eat any red meat or pork or lamb. Its still kind of wierd to me though. What do you think should I?

I have been doing great on the vegan diet. I don't take B12 because we don't need it. I think B12 was just a lie that murderers came up with to scare people into eating meat.

Ok, not eating animals does make sense cuzz they have a hearth and a lung so therefore they feel hurt and make sound.
Now I can’t even eat plants cuzz I realized that they have veins that need water to live there for it's something that breath.
I also eat eatable flowers but not anymore since I watched how my flowers move when I open the window in the morning
oneday i cut some leaves from a tree and it was really sad to see water comes out their green veins and dry to death slowly.
But, hey I’m a living thing too that needs to be fed to stay alive
It’s just my vegan conscious wouldn't let me be normal
Any help here or advise to get rid of this thoughts cuzz my lips r dried from hunger?!

I just spent some time defending my beliefs over the phone with a friend. She just used every protest I've heard about veganism:

"Make sure I'm eating right and getting all my vitamins."
"Your son will have a hard time at school dealing with children who aren't vegetarian or vegan."
"I can understand not wanting to eat meat, but c'mon, cheese and milk aren't hurting the cow."
"You can't change the world."
"Enjoy life... why limit yourself on what you can eat? Why deprive yourself?"
"You don't know anything about nutrition; I suggest you and your husband take a cooking class."

This know-it-all claimed that since she's older and has dealt with vegetarians and vegans before, she knows more. I know I should just ignore everything she just said... after all, this is coming from the same person who thinks Diet Coke is better than regular Coke... but I still can't help but feel upset.

Any kind words would be appreciated...

My son has been a vegetarian for one month, like me (but I don't have dairy products either, my son does). My ex-husband lives 4 hours away and sees his son every 3 weeks. This summer he is with him for 6 weeks. My son tells me he eats McDonalds, ham, steak, and pork at Daddys.

I have tried to talk to my mental case ex-husband, but he just tells me "He eats what we eat!"

What could I do?

Lately my 1 year old has been wanting to snack more than eat meals, and my 3 year old finally has more of an appetite, so she also wants to snack more. For the time being I've been using processed (with little sweetener) like crackers, and raisins and fruits, but my oldest is getting bored. Anyone have some sites or ideas to help my little ones get less processed, more nutricious (maybe a little extra protien) snacks?

I'm not worried about actual meals as my oldest eats those well enough.

This is the biggest personal conflict I have. I'm a meat eater. I was a vegetarian for 1.5 years. I jokingly call it the worst year and a half of my life. I LOVE meat, specifically chickens, cows, and pigs. I find vegetarian options very boring or they're usually mushroom based - my least favorite food. I find meat to be satisfying in every way but one... and that is that I believe that humans should be morally concious and compassionate enough to choose to be vegetarians. Factory farming is awful, animals have feelings, and I'm smart enough to know what the right choice is. Where is my willpower? I challenge you to throw all the vegetarian/vegan propaganda that will gross me out and change my diet my way. I NEED to be grossed out. If you could actually make me puke, that would be awesome. If I can't get grossed out about this, I think I'll be a meat eater for the rest of my life, struggling in and out of half-assed vegetarianism phases.

and I wish I had sooner...but I think we should all just ignore the stupid questions here. Don't feed their fires. It's too easy for people to get additional accounts on yahoo so working to ban anyone less then a top contributor seems worthless since they have nothing to lose cept more of there already useless time.

If all they want is attention don't give it to them..

I wish top contributors could be interviewed and set as moderators. It'd do many forums much good I think if yahoo would review posters who can prove they are competent and allow them to remove questions and submit trolls to an abuse team that paid more attention to such moderators. Anyone else agree?

We are here because we share similiar views and took the conscious step to better our lives, bodies and world around us..and this is a great place to learn from each other. Wish we could protect it better from the status quo.
