I'm not trying to disrespect anyone's choice but I am curious why people advocate so adamently for people to not consume meat and or anything that comes from an animal.

If we were to go back to the earlier days...like the native americans for example wouldn't we see a group of people that respected mother nature and gave thanks to her for the hunt??

My roomie is a vegetarian so I have no problem with the Veg Heads :-)....just curious to the different reasons why some of you came to the conclusion that you did??

As you all have probably read in the news today, a couple from Atlanta is in court for starving their 6 week old baby boy for feeding him a vegan diet of soy milk and apple juice. They claim they did not know the baby was having trouble till it was too late. They are now accused of malice murder, felony murder, involuntary manslaughter and cruelty to children. I would like to know your opinion on these charages, and I would also like to know if any of you vegans out there do serve your babies vegan diets and tell us what would be fed so people can have a more understanding! Thanks.

Do they use the same cows for leather and meat, or do they waste it and get it from two different cows?

Vegan parents in Georgia were sentenced Wednesday to life in prison after their 6-week-old son died of malnutrition.

The baby, Crown Shakur, weighed only 3.5 pounds. He'd been fed mostly soy milk and apple juice. Vegans typically do not consume animal products.

Defense lawyers say the first-time parents did the best they could for their son while adhering to the strict lifestyle of vegans. They said Sanders and Thomas did not realize the baby -- who was born in a bathtub at their home -- was in danger until minutes before he died in April of 2004.

Not surprising that this got into the human food supply in spite what some self described experts have said. It may be difficult determining where your fish comes from, but it's certainly worth the effort so that vegetarians will not become ill from eating tainted fish.

I work a 10 hours shift, and I have a great, low fat eating habits. I have no microwave at work, and I try to stay away from can, or frozen food. I already know about peanut better and Jelly, veggies, fruits, and dries nuts and fruits. What other type of food can I take to work that does not require much cooking? Humus, barley.....

Thanks

It is strange bc I was reading what some of the so-called vegetarians eat and it surprised me. One was loaded with fat and too much sugar. I also know quite a few vegetarians and they are over weight. Are they eating too many carbs and a diet loaded with fat???

I like all the food a vegetarian eats, but think I need to know more about what not to eat and what I should eat a lot of and how many times a day. I snack frequently and try to just eat veggies and fruits and nuts for snacks, but I do eat a lot of turkey and chicken and fish. Do vegetarian eat fish? Where do you get all your nutrients from if you don't eat chicken or fish?

(1) There is Peanut restriction in his class. So, no foods with peanuts are allowed;
(2) He takes Jelly sandwhich regularly. Now, he wants a different thing to eat in the bus.
(3) As i already wrote at the top, NO MEAT.

Thanks a lot.

I mean being a veggie person, isn't it expensive, Doesn't it cost an arm and a leg to buy organic products, natural grown stuff and what not. And prodcuts not made from animals?

What is so wrong with eating it can you explain it to me.

And do you consider, fish, shellfist or bird to be meat. Or is it only animals that walk on 4 legs that are considered on meat?

2007-05-07 02:00:03 · 22 answers · asked by ArchAngel Raziel 2

Or use animals in their product. What about soaps, deoderants, and other items as such?

The two which I've noticed in particular are Joss Stone and Charlize Theron. Joss is often on their website as being a healthy vegetarian and yet was part of the 'why milk' campaign, encouraging people to believe that milk is good for you.

Charlize Theron is on the anti-fur campaign, yet can be seen beaming out to me in the supermarket isles, from the L'Oreal bottles. Everybody who is familier with PeTA or animal rights know that L'Oreal conducts a huge amount of it's testing on animals.
