A pescartarian is a person who does not eat meat, but eats fish and all the other food groups.
No, you are not on par with a vegetarian. Vegetarians do not eat meat, fish or slaughter-house by-products such as gelatine, rennet, animal fats etc.
They also do not eat products which are insect derivatives such as cochineal (squashed beetle - red food colouring). Vegetarians also do not consume beers and wines containing issinglass (fish bladder) which is found in most beers (thankfully Bud, Grolsch, Carlsberg and Becks ARE veggie!).
In short, vegetarians only eat plant-based foodstuffs and dairy products, although there are an increasing number of vegetarians who are refusing to eat eggs due to the fact that most eggs are obtained from intensive battery farming, which in itself causes horrendous suffering. This is why the vegetarian society will only approve products as vegetarian if the manufacturer can guarantee the eggs contained in its product meet high standards (higher than free range standards).
Many vegetarians, including myself, also refuse to buy or wear leather.

Hi there!
I think it's wonderful you have cut out so many unnecessary animal products from your diet.
The vegetarian term covers a few sub-types. I'm vegan, which means I don't consume any product that came from a non-human, including leathers, honey and so on. A vegetarian eats no meats or flesh, including fish (it isn't a vegetable :P), but may eat honey, eggs, and dairy foods.
The term "Pescetarian" can be somewhat annoying to vegetarians and vegans, as they abstain from fish and sea-life generally speaking not to achieve a "full circle effect" ie. "I'm not eating cow, may as well leave fish alone" but because of eco ethics such as overfishing which damages the ocean, and other disturbing issues such as the fact that we are quite literally running out of fish! They also tend to see all non-humans as deserving of love and peace, and don't make a distinction between the "cute cuddlies" and the "snappy, slimies" :P
There are other terms too, such as "Flexitarians" who eat veg most of the time, but occasionally eat animal flesh.
Whatever.
"On par", what do you think? You're not a vegetarian, this is for certain, and I've explained the issue some veggies have with this term. However, it reads as though you're doing alot for your health and/or animal care and that's great. Rock on!

Maybe vegans won't consider you on their level, but I think you are doing a great job. Considering an average American diet consists of approx 140 lbs (or more) of beef & poultry per year, you have left a lot of animals on the farm.
I understand completely the full circle, but people need to make thier own choices. Some feel worse for dairy animals than fish, some feel horrible for all of them.
If everyone just started somewhere......
