Does anybody know how to make the manonassed based sauce that comes with japanese food at restaurants? I think that it is called shrimp sauce. If so do you find it as good as what you can get out to eat?

I got this sunbeam white kitchen timer for 4.99 and it's weird. It makes a ring like 5 minutes before time is done or the arrow goes to Zero, but when it comes to Zero the timer makes no noise and how is that going to help me when i want to time something for three or two minutes. ?

I thought the first one was not working and return it but it seems all work the same, is that true? plus , the ring it makes is so low i am not going to listen if i am multitasking...

Do they all work like this or these two I got are damaged?

I mean Turkey is so expensive to buy in the first place and that's just for a little one. Not to mention I find Roast Turkey to be dry at times and hard to swallow. Does anyone else out there share my opinion?

I'm making brownies but we don't have vegetable oil. My parents are telling me that they think I use "extra-virgin olive oil" instead. Can I use the olive oil? If not, is there another substitute I can use?

Do they taste better.........
with or without a sauce?
cooked whole or in halves?
with rice stuffing or cornbread dressing?

This is going to be my first time cooking them and I want them to be delicious.

hmmm, I believe all mine are smoked salmon, tofu w/sugar peas or green beans, ruby red grapefruit, marinated cabbage in hot sauce, pickles, lemon water, apple sauce w/no sugar added--esp. w/blueberry or raspberry, salad, chicken soup w/veggies [no noodles--only veggies w/chicken and broth, onion] and a good spinach recipe. Like fresh sauteed w/a little garlic and a little bit of green olives for taste. Oh--and roasted red peppers in garlic! for a sweet snack, crystalized ginger :-)
How about yours?

OK the first time the fudge was too runny and didn't set, I was told i didn't boil it long enough so the second time I boiled it for longer & burnt the whole thing!

Today I made my 3rd attempt and everything seemed fine. I didn't over boil, i beat the mixture and poured it in the dish and it looked like it was going to set. I've just gone back to it and it's ROCK HARD!!

What did I do wrong?! I've now wrapped it in foil & put it in the fridge now... do you think it will soften?

Does anyone have a "passed down through generations"-style recipe for holiday cookies? I have tried several peanut butter cookie recipes lately, and none of them produce good cookies. I am looking for something delicious, chewy, chocolatey whatever. Please make sure all measurements are correct before posting the entire recipe. Thanks!
