I got this sunbeam white kitchen timer for 4.99 and it's weird. It makes a ring like 5 minutes before time is done or the arrow goes to Zero, but when it comes to Zero the timer makes no noise and how is that going to help me when i want to time something for three or two minutes. ?

I thought the first one was not working and return it but it seems all work the same, is that true? plus , the ring it makes is so low i am not going to listen if i am multitasking...

Do they all work like this or these two I got are damaged?

It's a dial type, right? I don't totally trust those. Look online for a Polder digital timer. I have one and love it. It's only about $12. It's only a bit bigger than a cigarette lighter, has a magnet on the back, and a neck string. That way if you have to walk away from the kitchen (cleaning, bathroom, putting the mail out, etc.) you can hang it around your neck so you don't forget or are too far away to hear it. It's so handy, I swear by it.

i prefer digital timers myself. Some of the kinds like the one you have require you to turn past a certain time on the dial and then adjust back to the time you want to start the timer properly. i find that my dual timer is best for me. It is a digital timer, that i can use to cook two separate things. if I am multitasking, I generally carry the timer with me in my pocket since it is small. digital timers are best for cooking things for less than 5 minutes. they are far more accurate.
