I mean Turkey is so expensive to buy in the first place and that's just for a little one. Not to mention I find Roast Turkey to be dry at times and hard to swallow. Does anyone else out there share my opinion?

We would do turkey at thanksgiving. I would insist on a huge one and hardly eat any. The best thing about a turkey is the sandwiches for the next few days.
At Christmas we usually had prime rib. Not cheap but so much better. A nice pork roast is good also. A ham, a leg of lamb. Anything than another turkey.

Turkey can be very good if it is cooked right. But you are right, if overcooked it can be very dry. I love it at Christmas myself - wouldn't been Christmas without it. But you are right I don't know why such a big deal is made of it. Have a bowl of soup if that's what you feel like at Christmas is what I say. And by the way chicken and turkey is very economical. Compared to the price per pound for beef it is a good bargain. The bone to meat ratio is good. Then you have the homemade soup you can make with the carcass - you can't beat that.

You don't have to have turkey on Christmas. We always have Prime Rib Roast with Yorkshire Pudding. We have baked ham on New Years Day. The only day we have turkey is Thanksgiving Day. I personally hate turkey but my husband loves it.

My family usually does a ham. My boyfriends family does a roast. It's all about tradition. And Turkey is usually dry because of how it's cooked. Otherwise, it's nice and juicy.

If you have turkey for Thanksgiving, why have it one month later for Christmas? Frankly, I haven't had it for Christmas for over 30 years. There are so many classy foods to have I switch off on a lot of things. Don't have turkey for Thanksgiving much either.

I agree with you!! Turkey is not all that good and it is dry!!
I serve Duck instead. It is moist and has a great flavor. A much better choice than Turkey.
The people that raise Turkeys do not want anyone to know that..*.wink*
