I've heard red wine is good but know nothing about wine. What kind, specifically, should I use? Thank you! I have a bunch of tomatoes from the garden and am canning some sauce!

I like this certain type of pizza but I want to make it at home. It has a little bit of sauce on the dough then you cover the sauce with slices of mozzerella cheese, and slices of tomatoe with either basil or spinache leaves on top. Am I missing anything on this pizza, am I supposed to add any oil or spices? Are the tomatoes supposed to be seasoned? Thanks

So many kinds to choose from

Do you bake them in their jackets
and do you prick them with a fork first
or do you wrap them ... I have an
ordinary oven

I miss the old Maine potatoes ....they tasted so
earthy and delicious .... anything new that is similar when the market doesn't stock the old ones?

thank you very much

I'm going to put together gift baskets for Christmas gifts this year. I want to include a small bottle of a homemade vinagrette in the baskets (for marinade or salad).

What are the most liked vinagrettes?... besides Italian (I want something a little less boring).

If anyone has ideas for cheap, but nice-looking, bottles for the vinagrette, I'd apprecitate that too!

I am babysitting for my 2 year old little brother today. My mom left chicken for me to make. I am a good cook/baker. I would like some recipes for chicken, not just normal chicken. It is NOT on a bone. I would also like sides for it. We have pasta, bread, spaghetti sauce, cheese, a lot of spices, hashbrowns, just normal things that people have in their kitchens. I do not think we have potatoes though. ALSO I CANNOT DRIVE SO I CANT GO TO THE STORE! Any ides would help thanks.

I did some home canning this summer (dill pickles and beets) and am about to start eating them ,but i've never done this before and i'm nervous that they could be spoiled. Will it be obvious? Is there mold, a bad smell, etc if the canning didn't work? I'd hate to make myself and family sick...please let me know.

I often see the Food Network chefs topping their steaks with bleu cheese or gorgonzola sauce...I don't either, but I like the idea. What other cheeses would someone recommend? Does feta work?

I thought I got regular sirloin steak, i was in a hurry. Well I made one pack last night. We broiled it. It was SO TOUGH that we couldnt even eat it. Is there any tips for making this type of sirloin tender? I dont have a grill so all recipes have to be with the stove/oven. I was thinking of cutting it into strips but im not sure.
