Strawberries are a classic. Try other fruits you like too: pineapple, apples, cherries (take out the pits first though), melons, and bananas.

Sweet things that go well with chocolate are marshmallows, graham crackers, oreos, chocolate chip cookies.

And it's good to dip salty things too - pretzels, popcorn balls, and nuts.

Try this...

Marinate the following fruits briefly in a very light syrup:
Freshly sliced Peaches
Freshly sliced Chinese Pears
Freshly sliced Banana
Freshly sliced Golden Delicious Apples
A variety of halved Grapes - red, black, white, etc.
Halved Strawberries
Pineapple half-rings

Then quickly chargrill them on a griddle pan, and serve with a very light dusting of fine sugar like icing powder (more for decoration than anything), and a dark, not-too-sweet chilled chocolate sauce.

If the chocolate is going to be warm and sweet, then skip the syrup marinade & chargrill step, as the contrast of the freshness of the fruit is essential as a counterpoint to balance the richness & sweetness of the chocolate.

I love bananas dipped in chocolate.

Another tasty treat is pretzels.

Strawberries
marshmallows
Oreos or ChipsAhoy
Biscotti
poundcake chunks
banana chunks
pretzels

Some people use ridge potato chips (like Ruffles), but I find that a little gross. (I'm not big on the pretzels either.)
