I understand the idea of just throwing it out if it appears black, and putting a strainer on the container to pour it through if still looking reusable. I'm just wondering if any traces or few drips from the beverages mixing with the oil will have any significant effect on the next use? So I'm guessing it's definitely a good idea to rinse and dry the container first before storing oil in it?

The party is next Sat., for about 50 people. I wanted to get a head start on some of the prep, but how soon is too soon, even with proper refridgeration? I'm also making a spaghetti salad. The deviled eggs and ham roll ups I'll save for the night before, the cake too. Would Thursday night be ok? Any advice?

My friends wife is from guatemala and I would like to make a nice 4 course authentic guatemalan meal. Salad, appetizer, main dish (with sides) and dessert.

Also, what are the right drinks? (Alcoholic and not). Beer? Wine? Is there such a thing as Guatemalan mixed drinks? I would prefer mixed drinks before dinner and then beer or wine with dinner.

Please help!
