All right ... So I'm going to bake a cake for my dad for Father's Day and his b'day (which are back to back), and I really don't feel like shopping for a lot of ingredients. Does anyone have any recipes for cakes that really don't require too many ingredients? I have things like coconut milk on hand and crap like that, but I have no butter. o_O. Oil works though, right? Or maybe I'm being stupid. Anyways, enough ranting. ^^" Experimentation and different ingredients and techniques are okay, just as long as the list of needed things isn't too long. Thanks a bunch!

My mom's doctor and I are good friends, she is coming in the middle of September to spend the weekend for the Shrimp and Petroliuem Festival. We celebrate this every year in Morgan City Louisiana; we have the blessings of the fleet with the king and queen. there are live bands in the park, food booths, arts and crafts, a gospel tent, and a fair. We have a really good time during this ocaisson, I don't know what to fix for her while she is here. I really want to impress her, she is waiting on me to get my nursing liscence so I can work for her. I want her to have a good time; they will have alot of shrimp, and I know she will be eating at the fair, but I want to have lots of food at home. At the fair they have really good hurricanes, and I want to do some at home too.

I've noticed that in different recipes for breading chicken, it mentions both eggs and milk. What is the difference? Is one better than the other?

I've cooked the hamburger and it goes into medium sized crumbles, but I want them to be very small like you used to see in the cafeteria tacos kind of fine. Is there a tool I should use? Did I cook it wrong?

Thanks!

I am hosting a party at our new house this weekend. I've never played host before, so I have no idea what to do. There will be about 20 people there and hopefully it doesn't rain.

Along with entertaining, I need to develop a menu. I believe we will do hamburgers and hot dogs (any other ideas are welcomed), but I am stumped for side dishes. Does anyone have an easy and delicious macaroni salad recipe? I would prefer if it didn't have any seafood in it.
