I am looking for a great summer salad recipe. I was hoping to find something w/ some fruit like strawberries. I would like to keep away from nuts, i am having a bbq and i don't no about food allergies. Possibly have the nuts on the side. Any suggestion? (not a fruit salad but like a chicken salad w/ almonds and strawberries type of thing) thnx

I like baby spinach with sliced strawberries (or dried cranberries) walnuts or almonds, and grilled chicken, with a raspberry vinigrette dressing.

So much is in season now, it's hard to know where to start.
Start with your basic greens, baby spinach or mixed greens.
Many combinations of fruit & nuts will work:
Mandarin orange slices with slivered almonds.
Dried cranberries with walnut or pecan pieces.
Strawberries, mango pieces, & sunflower seeds.
You could also set it up like a small salad bar.
People could choose their own combinations.
Have croutons, & a variety of cheeses too.

This is a coleslaw: shred or chop the cabbage. In another bowl mix 1 small can crushed pineapple- juice also, and 1 cup mayonaise. That is the dressing for the cabbage. Very refreshing.
