I have been buying birds eye frozen veg because it last longer and quicker to cook. I have also been buying frozen steam veg that you can microwave in 3 mins. Is this not as good for you?

Does anyone have any recipes for Shiitake mushrooms?
I have always had them in Japanese resturants but would be interested to find out a recipe that might use them

I go to this vietnamese/chinese restaurant a LOT only because of the chili sauce they serve there. It is very very oily and has chili flakes and i think onions in it too. whenever i ask them what it is, they tell me its just chili. its red in colour and is spicy. does anyone know what im talking about. Please do tell me what its called because im dying to know the recipe and dont even know how to start searching without a name.
it kind of looks like this picture here (http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f204/bare_proton/chilli2.jpg) but im very doubtful it has oranges in it, cuz its not sweet at all.
PLease help me out. PLEASE!

i've just started a 7 day diet and i had to make my own, fresh soup, cabbage, spring onions, green peppers, tinned tomatoes, celery and water. i've made my soup and i'm not sure how long i can store it in the fridge for. the recipe makes enough to last the whole week. can someone please tell me if it's ok to keep it that long?

Hi, I'm learning how to cook and this is dumb, but how long do you let chicken thaw before you cook it? And do you cut the chicken before you put it in marinade (to help it soak up the marinade)? Thanks!

I hate to waste the nice stalks of broccoli. My family doesn't like to eat the stalks steamed, is there another way I can incorporate this into another dish? In a soup perhaps?

Particularly hot snacks, for times when I've just arrived home after walking from school in the rain and want something quick, easy but delicious to warm me up inside. Have tried hot chocolate, soup mixes and grilled cheese fingers. All very good, but looking for something new to try!
But just other ideas for things to munch on in the afternoon would be much appreciated as well! I normally eat a piece of fruit or some biscuits, so I would really like some alternatives.

Thanks!!

When I was a kid, this recipe I think came off the Quaker Oats box. We cooked peanut butter, corn syrup or sugar on the stove and than after we took it off the fire, stirred in rolled oats and dropped it by teaspoons on wax paper and cooled in refrigerator. It was fast & easy
