i am making a devils chocolate cake...something like that.....
but i do not have any frosting handy......what could i use as a sub.?
how about pudding?

you could just make a glaze:

1/2 cup powdered sugar
3 T Water or Milk
1 t vanilla

stir together until smooth

pour SLOWLY over cake.

or you could just dust the cake with powdered sugar

You can make a glaze, you need 4 cups of powdered sugar, 2 TBS vanilla extract, 2 TBS milk mix together and there you go. If it's too think or thin add what ever you need, but remember that powdered sugar is fluffy so a little liquid gos a long way. Good luck

What about pudding, but use 3/4 the amount of milk and fold in a container of cool whip.

You will have to keep it in the fridge though.

do you have powdered sugar?

* 2 cups confectioners' sugar, sift before measuring
* 1 1/2 tablespoons butter, soft
* 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 3 to 4 tablespoons milk

you can add cream cheese, cool whip or cocoa for different flavors

pudding mix no just take powered sugar and a little milk and you got yourself a easy frosting ok

If it wasn't chocolate I would say jello...strawberry or cherry jello, that hasn't set up yet, poured over a while cake keeps it really moist and it tastes really good...but I don't know how well it would work on Chocolate...

pudding works
try cream cheese
3 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 stick butter, softened

Cream first two ingredients:

1 tsp. vanilla
4 tbsp. milk
1 c. sugar

pudding can work. or take nesquik(choco poweder) or choco syrup, mix with heavy cream and sugar and beat with a whisk and then like magic turns into whip cream

Use pudding mix. If you have whipping cream, mix it with that.
