i've just started a 7 day diet and i had to make my own, fresh soup, cabbage, spring onions, green peppers, tinned tomatoes, celery and water. i've made my soup and i'm not sure how long i can store it in the fridge for. the recipe makes enough to last the whole week. can someone please tell me if it's ok to keep it that long?

aaahhhhhh your on the cabbage soup diet then. Well the answer to your question is that it Will keep perfectly fine for 7 days as long as you keep it in the fridge........Words of encouragement here My other half did this diet 2 years ago and lost 2 stone in 2.5 weeks, Drastic it sounds but he never went hungry & he didn't put the weight back on again. Stick rigidly to the diet & you will be pleasantly suprised at the result.

I eat this soup daily, for B'fast, lunch and dinner.
The recipe should last a week if you only eat one portion, and it is still good when refrigerated for that time.
I have to make 2 batches, because I eat it so often.
If you are wondering if this soup helps with your diet...it is absolutely great.
Please only take out and reheat the portion you want to eat.
I hope this helps. Good luck

Freeze it in portions. I find that Vitalite margarine tubs are great for holding a good sized portion. And you can use them in the freezer and microwave. Plus, you can just eat straight from the bowl as well! Most supermarkets sell Tupperware now - get some it's a good investment.

I would keep 3 helpings in the frig and rest in freezer.
Can be kept as ling in a freezer.
Keep the portions separately, so you can just heat and have it.
To make it feel fresh, each time just add some fresh herbs or nuts or some diced tomatoes... Feels good.

I'd freeze the soup in portion sizes.
I have friends who have done this diet and for a quick kick-start to weight loss they have all said it's fantastic. The only complaint they all had was it gives you quite a bit of gas, but they all said it was worth it..
Good luck with it :)

Once cooked. It must be brought down in temp. to store. If u refrige it, 2 not more than 3 days. If you freeze it, a month

I agree.... why not separate it into individual portions then freeze them.... that way you just have to micro wave them as and when you want one.....Good luck on the diet....
Remember eat good healthy foods and dont stuff your face with masses of them...eat a sensible amount...
