Coincidence, I'm having that today! So here is my recipe - switch on your slow-cooker about ten minutes beforehand so it is already warm inside. Fry the onions lightly in a pan until they are golden brown, add the mince in the pan to lightly fry as well. Two teaspoons of flour into this and mix it in - that will thicken the sauce a little. Tip this into the slow cooker, add some peeled and chopped potatoes (cut into small cubes), a dash of worcestershire sauce if you have it (don't worry if you don't but it adds to the flavour) and then sprinkle one Oxo cube over the whole lot, and two cups of cold water.
Put the lid back on the slow cooker. The potatoes will cook in the liquid, the mince will release more juices and the Oxo and worcestershire sauce will be delicious.
Four hours minimum, I'd say. Oooooh the smell from the kitchen will have your mouth watering! Mine is already in the slow cooker downstairs and I can smell it from here ... yum yum, enjoy !

Any of the above will do - but you should always use hot water to get the process going, not cold. Also try cooking a piece of brisket in slow cooker. Chuck in the joint, couple of oxo cubes and pour in boiling water to nearly cover meat. Cook on lowest setting for 24 hours. Remove the joint, and put in a shallow dish or similar. Upside down plate on the top, weighed down with tins or something to put pressure on the joint as it cools. Cheap, melts in your mouth and tastes amazing. For ultra gravy, pour the cooking stock into a large pan and boil hard until there's not much left and it's becoming syrupy in consistency - guaranteed the tasiest gravy ever. And you don't need much spooned on!

Brown the mince first in the frying pan, add chopped onion, etc. You can add other ingredients such as garlic, sliced peppers, baked beans, tomato puree 2 tablespoons. Transfer to the slow cook pot. Add beef stock 1/2 pint, tin chopped tomatoes, spice or herbs such as basil. Put a layer of sliced potatoes over top, replace lid. leave on medium for several hours. Eat in the evening.

I love both fruits and fruit and vegetables better, however they look and taste. You desire a little of both.
