I am into the "New Year's philosophy " that you start the new year meal with 1) something green (keeps money in the house) 2) pork (I forget what that was for) 3) black-eyed peas (good luck). Since I live alone, I have this nice, small pork shoulder. I'm looking for a recipe for it. Usually, I barbeque, but I don't want to do that this year. I have lots of spices, herbs and seasonings, so I can really get buck wild with whatever you throw at me. I also have potatoes and other ingredients to add. I just want something new and different. I mean, there's only so much you can do with black eyed peas, collard greens and corn bread -but the meat can have a real taste. I've got wines, vinegars, everything to work with.

I am interested in making a pound cake (today). I do not have a tube or bundt pan, only regular and circle pans.
Does pound cake ABSOLUTELY have to be baked a tube pan? Can I bake it in a circle pan, and will it turn out fine or messy?

This cake is just for me, I'm not having it for a party or anything, so it doesn't have to be made perfect.

The recipe I am using is...
