British Tea is made with a dry blend from India or Sri Lanka. the larger the leaves, the longer you shoul let the tea steep. Do not use over-boiled water since it will result in a bitter brew. ................................................................. 1. Fill an empty kettle with freshly-drawn cold water. Put this kettle on to boil. 2. Rinse out a ceramic teapot, set aside. Just before the kettle comes to a boil.... 3. Pour 3/4 cup of hot water into the teapot. Swirl it around a few times and discard it. 4. Into the warmed teapot, place one teaspoon of tea for each person and one for the pot. 5. As soon as the kettle reaches a galloping boil, pour water into pot. It is important to let the tea steep for about 3 to 5 minutes. 6. Add cold milk to a tea cup before pouring the tea, using a strainer. Sugar is not really recommended since it alters the tea flavor

The best way to make tea is to use an electric kettle to boil the water. The advantage is the water is actually boiling when you pour it over the tea, either in a cup or in a teapot. This helps to extract the most flavor from the tea, and it reduces the length of time you need to brew the tea. The longer you brew, the more bitter tasting tannin will be dissolved. An electric kettle is found in almost every home in Europe for this reason. Heating water in the microwave is slower, more dangerous and produces inferior tea. This is why we sell hundreds of electric kettles every month. You will also get better results using loose tea in a teapot, rather than teabags. Loose tea is not ground as fine as the tea in tea bags, as it has more room to circulate in the pot. The finer tea is ground the more bitter tannin is released. The best answer to this question that I have ever found comes not from me, but from Douglas Adams. He wrote this short essay a while before he died, and from it I have learned to make good tea. I was always a tea fan BEFORE I learned how to make it this way... now I love it even more.
One or two Americans have asked me why it is that the English like tea so much, which never seems to them to be a very good drink. To understand, you have to know how to make it properly.
There is a very simple principle to the making of tea and it's this - to get the proper flavour of tea, the water has to be boiling (not boiled) when it hits the tea leaves. If it's merely hot then the tea will be insipid. That's why we English have these odd rituals, such as warming the teapot first (so as not to cause the boiling water to cool down too fast as it hits the pot). And that's why the American habit of bringing a teacup, a tea bag and a pot of hot water to the table is merely the perfect way of making a thin, pale, watery cup of tea that nobody in their right mind would want to drink. The Americans are all mystified about why the English make such a big thing out of tea because most Americans have never had a good cup of tea. That's why they don't understand. In fact the truth of the matter is that most English people don't know how to make tea any more either, and most people drink cheap instant coffee instead, which is a pity, and gives Americans the impression that the English are just generally clueless about hot stimulants.
So the best advice I can give to an American arriving in England is this. Go to Marks and Spencer and buy a packet of Earl Grey tea. Go back to where you're staying and boil a kettle of water. While it is coming to the boil, open the sealed packet and sniff. Careful - you may feel a bit dizzy, but this is in fact perfectly legal. When the kettle has boiled, pour a little of it into a tea pot, swirl it around and tip it out again. Put a couple (or three, depending on the size of the pot) of tea bags into the pot (If I was really trying to lead you into the paths of righteousness I would tell you to use free leaves rather than bags, but let's just take this in easy stages). Bring the kettle back up to the boil, and then pour the boiling water as quickly as you can into the pot. Let it stand for two or three minutes, and then pour it into a cup. Some people will tell you that you shouldn't have milk with Earl Grey, just a slice of lemon. Screw them. I like it with milk. If you think you will like it with milk then it's probably best to put some milk into the bottom of the cup before you pour in the tea.* If you pour milk into a cup of hot tea you will scald the milk. If you think you will prefer it with a slice of lemon then, well, add a slice of lemon.
Drink it. After a few moments you will begin to think that the place you've come to isn't maybe quite so strange and crazy after all.

* This is socially incorrect. The socially correct way of pouring tea is to put the milk in after the tea. Social correctness has traditionally had nothing whatever to do with reason, logic or physics. In fact, in England it is generally considered socially incorrect to know stuff or think about things. It's worth bearing this in mind when visiting.
Douglas is brilliant. Heed his tea-making advice.
Oh, and, always best to go with Earl Grey. Because it's just... better. Well, I think it is, anyway. You'll have to decide for yourself on that one. And, don't forget to warm that teapot!

Hi, with a Typhoo Tea Bag. It all depends on how you like you tea Strong or weak. i dont suppose anyone can tell you how to make your perfect cup of tea. But this is how i make it
1 Put sugar an tea bag in cup
2, Pour in hot water
3 Stir and wait a little
4 add milk
5 Stir and Wait a little
6 Take out tea bag and stir.
Just ready to drink.
You are reall suppose to not put milk in when the tea back is still in the cup as they say it dosnt brew quicker. But its always very hot and you have to wait for ages before its warm enough to drink then you for get about it.
This is the Proper way.
1 just tea bag in a tea pot
2 Pour in water
3Leave for 3 mins
4 put in a cup then add milk

The right way to make tea:
For yourself:
- Put the tea bag in the cup
- Boil water
- Get the water, still boiling and pour it into your cup
- Get a small tea cup plate or something flat to cover your cup (this is so the tea leaves can open)
- After 5 minutes uncover cup and remove bag
FYI: If you have black circles under your eyes, used tea bags placed over your dark puffy eyes, lightens them and soothes them out.

Make sure that you boil the water on the stove and not in the microwave. Also, never leave the tea bag in the water for more than a few minutes. It will make the tea bitter. Lastly, try using organic sugar. I am not an organic fanatic or anything, but I recently happened to put a little organic sugar in my tea. It seemed to be sweeter but I used less sugar.

Blackberry Iced Tea:
For the garnish, cut desired amount of wooden skewers into 5-inch lengths; then place fresh blackberries on skewers.
3 cups fresh or frozen blackberries, thawed
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint
Pinch of baking soda
4 cups boiling water
2 family-size tea bags
2 1/2 cups cold water
Garnishes: fresh blackberries, fresh mint sprigs
Combine blackberries and sugar in large container. Crush blackberries with wooden spoon. Add mint and baking soda. Set aside.
Pour 4 cups boiling water over tea bags; cover and let stand 3 minutes. Discard tea bags.
Pour tea over blackberry mixture; let stand at room temperature 1 hour. Pour tea through a wire-mesh strainer into a large pitcher, discarding solids. Add 2 1/2 cups cold water, stirring until sugar dissolves. Cover and chill until ready to serve. Garnish, if desired.
Yield: Makes about 7 1/2 cups

chai tea is the best way to have tea
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 quarts water
4 black tea bags
10 whole cardamom seeds
2 cinnamon stick, broken in half
1 teaspoon black peppercorns
3 tablespoons white sugar
DIRECTIONS
In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add the tea bags, cardamom seeds, cinnamon, and black pepper, then return to a boil. Immediately stir in sugar.
Remove pot from heat and let stand for 5 minutes.
