I am interested in making a pound cake (today). I do not have a tube or bundt pan, only regular and circle pans.
Does pound cake ABSOLUTELY have to be baked a tube pan? Can I bake it in a circle pan, and will it turn out fine or messy?

This cake is just for me, I'm not having it for a party or anything, so it doesn't have to be made perfect.

The recipe I am using is...

you can use any type pan you would like even if the recipe calls for a certain pan. If you do not have one, just use what you do have!! My grandmother ususally uses a tube or bunt pan for her wonderful pound cake but she has used a regular round cake pan for her extra batter and it tasted just as great!! Different pans have different cooking times so the smaller the pan, the less baking time. Since it is just for you and you do not require anything fancy...just use what you have!!

You can--but you are going to have to reduce the baking time if you are using a layer size pan and be very careful when you pour the batter in the pan don't fill it to the rim of the pan, just to be on the safe side put your pan on a cookie sheet so in case it overflows.Check to see if its done after it has baked for 35 minutes.

Normally pound cake is baked in a loaf pan. I'm sure you can bake it in a regular sandwich tin, though I would expect it will bake quicker as the batter won't be held in such a tight, dense form as a loaf tin would do.

a tube or bundt would be better ,you can do this in round pans you will have to evenly measure this out for three pans.
