i want to make marshmallows and the recipe says to put one envelope gelatin.how much gelatin is there in one envelope?

I've tried various recipes for deep frying cod the good old English way but none ever turn out like a fine deep fried cod from the local chippy. I tend to find that the batter cooks well before the fish and then burns by the time the fish is cooked.
I tried asking numerous chippies but none are willing to give up their secret! Any help would be apprieciated???

I went to an Iranian wedding years ago and the mothers had prepared some amazing varies of rices (savoury/sweet) I'd like to reproduce them but can't find anything like it on the net or in a book. Pity I didn't ask for the recipes at the time huh?

It was for white chocolate crackles (for Christmas). The ingredients include: rice bubbles, white choc melts & milk & dark choc bits,copha. Does this ring a bell with anyone? I remember reading that you can shape the mixture into a Christmas tree!! Pls help, it's driving me nuts!

I have just got married and I want to become a good housewife/cook. I have no idea what goes with what. If I was to make some sort of meat any meat, what (other than veg) would go with it? not just meat...say a nice pie or quiche and please don't anybody say chips because we are sick of chips :-( also those pasta sauces you can get in the packet (my husband loves them) what would go with the sauce or even savoury rice? Please help because as you can tell...I've got NO idea!!

My husband and I had gotten on a health food kick a while back and opted for buffalo instead of beef, but I never knew how to fix it really good so I never did. I would like to do something with it (not to mention it wasn't cheap) and BTW we aren't being healthy anymore, so does anyone have any ideas on how to use it? And please, nothing creative. I get as creative as making my own spaghetti sauce and that's about it.
