* A small sandwich, just one slice of bread, made whit whole grain bread and deli meat, or the traditional peanut butter and jelly.

Make a bowl of jello before you go to bed every night. By the next day, it will be ready for you to snack on. You can even buy the sugar free kind, and put some fruit in it too. You'll want to stay away from things that are salty, as your feet may tend to swell by the end of the day. Drinking fruit juices are a good way to fill up on something good too. Or toast & a little jelly or marmalade. <*)))><

Jello, yogurt, celery with cream cheese or peanut butter filling, apples with peanut butter in the center, hot chocolate made from chocolate soy milk (oh so good, really) and a few graham crackers. Quick breads like date nut spread with a little cream cheese or cinnamon toast, popcorn, pretzels, Salsa and organic tortilla chips. There's lots of stuff, the problem is, when you want something you just want it, you don't want to have to think about what to have. Congratulations!

Fruit is the best healthy snacks. Fruits are moderate on calories, and long digesting. They curb the appetite for a period of time longer than the calorie intake. Eat fruit during every meal and between meals. Then your new child will be made out of apples and stuff and will grow up sweet and rosy.

There are numerous "diet" yoghurt's, chocolate mousses, custards etc. that are totally fat free or between 97 - 100% fat free, available in the supermarkets these days. I love them, most of them taste as good as the fatty versions. The black cherry Nestles diet yogurt is especially good.

I have found that a bowl of cereal and no fat or low fat milk is very satisfying at any time of the day as is semolina or porridge.

You could chop up carrot or celery sticks and leave them in the fridge, or your favourite salad in a serving size, ready to eat.

Fresh fruits are also good - cantaloupe or honeydew melon with fat free custard, watermelon on its own, apples, grapes (frozen are good) bananas, berries of any sort - you name it, they are easy to prepare and can be accessed when you want them.

If you really want to splurge there is fat free ice cream or very low fat ice cream.

Try keeping icy poles or frozen yogurt icy poles in the freezer.

The things are endless.
