My grandma used to make her meatballs by tearing pieces of white bread up and soaking them in milk before adding the other ingredients..ugh, I can't find my recipes. Does anyone else do this and if you do would you share your recipe. Meatballs made this way make the meatballs so unbelievably soft and light.
Mahalo and aloha!!

I would like to know what your favorite side dish is for Thanksgiving dinner. I am looking for new ideas. I have to make the norm, Turkey, stuffing, yams and broccoli casserole, but I am looking for a new recipe to add to the table. No desserts, just side dishes, thanks so much for your help!!

When I have too many items to pan-fry in the pan at once, I fry in batches. However, the oil and pan get too dirty and the latter batches come out blackened. Is there a way to avoid this without having to change out the oil completely and clean the pan between batches?

Last night I made a recipe that consisted of chicken breasts. After I seasoned them with salt and pepper, I decided to make less of them that I had intended so I food saved a couple and put them in the freezer. Is this OK to do? Sounds like a strange question I know, but In all my years of cooking, I have never done that before. Will the salt affect the meat in any way? Thanks!

When cooking from a recipe, things are very easy, you follow the directions, add the ingredients in the amounts shown, and VOILA, youre an instant chef ;) I cook from scratch most of the time and of course i use moms recipes too, but when I cook from scratch i like to explore new territories. Sometimes my creations are very good, and I have to admit ive tossed some in the trash too... I have no formal training in the culinary arts but can someone give me some advice on how to pick herbs and spices for my creations? One thing I have tried is hold the herb/spice over what i am cooking to blend the smells to see it they are compatible but this doesnt always work. Can someone help with good rule of thumb?

I made it last year and it was great, but lost the recipe! :( It's a double crust apple pie but the thing that makes it different is while you are making the filling you put red hots in it!!! It's delicious. If anybody knows the recipe or something similar let me know!
