I made it last year and it was great, but lost the recipe! :( It's a double crust apple pie but the thing that makes it different is while you are making the filling you put red hots in it!!! It's delicious. If anybody knows the recipe or something similar let me know!

I know exactly the pie you're referring to...I make it every year for the holidays. I've looked at the Food Networks recipe...doesn't look right. Here's our family recipe for the pie you want to make:

3/4 c of sugar
1 t cinnamon
1/4 t allspice
1/4 t nutmeg
1 T flour
8 large apples (granny smith)
1 T lemon juice
red hots (I usally use 1 bag)

You can find a regular crust recipe anywhere, but that's the filling. Have a happy holiday and enjoy.

Apple Pie

2 crusts
apples (enough for whatever size pie you want to make)
red hot cinnamon candies
1 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. flour
pat butter

Have crusts ready. Pare apples. Mix apples with a cup sugar. Mix flour and butter, sprinkle with a handful of redhots over the top of the apples. Put the top crust on. Sprinkle a little sugar on the top crust. Bake at 425 degrees for 35 minutes or until done.
