I suppose in this ridiculously politically correct country, some might take offence, but it would be better if you brushed off your sense of humour instead and see the statement for what it is - A JOKE or at least a mildly humorous remark.
Yorkie used to advertise a lorry driver eating one, does that mean that anybody else cannot eat Yorkies? Be real!
Get a life!

I don't see the point of that selling point. Hardly any men I know eat chocolate bars, and if they do, it's usually stuff like Snickers or Mars Bars.

I don't buy Yorkie bars anyway, not because of the 'sexist' statement, but because they're tasteless. Gimme Galaxy any day! :P

Oh you want be part of everything don't you, can't us men have something for just us?

Yorkies = Men only
Tampons = Exclusive to women

:-D

Serious answer: I doubt it's affected their sales at all, I might be generalising but I've never in my life seen a woman eat a Yorkie anyway.

It's pandering to an old-fashioned and outmoded idea that anything meant for girls must be weak or wimpish in some way.

I'm not one of the politically correct brigade. I can see the funny side of it, but it is still a bit pathetic, isn't it.

Nah. For most men chocolate is highly emasculating and the only way a bloke can get away with buying a bar of it is to have his masculinity strenuously reassured at every moment, poor things.

It is just a ploy .They don't actually stop women buying them.It is actually a subtle insult to men as they assume that men being macho meat heads will go and buy them to look manly.

By the way ,next time you watch an ad break notice how many ads make men look stupid and women clever.

If they want to disreagrd half of their potential customers that's fine by me (anyway i can't remember seeing anyone, male or female, actually eat a yorkie). What's really offensive is that they're bottom of the list (nil points) in a chart of ethical chocolate brands. think links to slavery and child labour etc.

I stopped eating Yorkies when Nestle took over Rowntree. It's not a gender thing - it's a profit making thing.

No I don't I find it quite amusing. I don't like Yorkies anyway. But if I did it wouldn't stop me buying one!

It'll probably go to court soon anyway since politial correctness has gone mental.
