My grandma used to make her meatballs by tearing pieces of white bread up and soaking them in milk before adding the other ingredients..ugh, I can't find my recipes. Does anyone else do this and if you do would you share your recipe. Meatballs made this way make the meatballs so unbelievably soft and light.
Mahalo and aloha!!

We did that for meatballs, hamburgers, and meatloaf. We used several slices of Wonder bread cut up, add a couple of raw eggs, a cup of milk, a chopped onion and chopped celery, with salt and pepper to taste. You can add a couple dashes of Worcestershire sauce too. Made great mixture for meatballs, meatloaf, or hamburgers too. You can also add other favorites like chopped garlic and spices like rosemary, sage or thyme as well.

My Italian neighbour taught me to make meatball with fresh bread. She simply took several slices of bread (depending on the amount of meat you are using) ran them under the tap, squeezed them out good and dumped it into the meat and then mixed it in. You are right, it makes them great. She also minced the onion so that it was just a mush.

Toast some bread - split and degree, use what you want contained in the meatloaf :) or you may weigh down pretzels and they'll be high-quality too, yet bear in mind the flavor will be diverse. or you should use cooked rice! that is amazingly solid. or you should use bread baked contained in the oven for 15 minutes, crumple it and degree. solid success!
