Grapeseed oil will be ideal.

It has very little flavour and can also stand very high temperatures - ideal for baking cakes.

Don't use olive oil - the flavour it makes is bad enough in cakes and the high temperature will break up all the goodness so a complete waste of time and money (only use olive oil for dressings and low heats).

I wouldn't substitute olive oil in a dessert recipe as olive oil has a distinct flavor. But you can use any cooking oil or applesauce.

In the superstore, fruits are usually chosen far too soon. Some are rocks, many are bitter. Some of the fruit and vegetables are generally right (zucchini, onions, garlic, lettuce, greens, and a few others) so I'd have to go with vegetables.

melted shortening works fine as well. Might change the texture a bit but the flavor will be the same.
