It sure does..............and if you like that treat, try using Cinnamon Raisin Bread (found in the bread aisle of any supermarket) as FT, I serve that at our B&B and guests rave about it.......and I always use leftover quick bread loaves, no matter what they are and make FT with it........comes out delicious, just let the bread go a little stale so that it soaks up the liquid sufficiently before browning the FT in a skillet with a bit of butter.......

I've seen various fruit breads used to make french toast. They are usually prepared the same way but served more decadent (almost like a desert) using flavored simple syrups or powdered sugar glazes versus maple syrup. I'm sure maple syrup would be fine to use though. :)

of course it would!!! it would be like how some people cut fruit up and put it on their french toast or pancakes. If you had the means to make a berry syrup to go with it that would be scrumptious!
in order to make a flavored syrup with berries take the syrup and cook it in a small saucepan with the mashed berried. cook until desired flavor. real maple syrup gives the best flavors for this but any kind will do!
now im hungry!!

It makes a great french toast, just go easy on the syrup, the sweetness can be a little overwhelming.

just make certain the banana bread is at room temperature before you dredge it lightly (you don't want to soak it like a sponge!) in a mixture of beaten eggs and milk - you might want to add a pinch of cinnamon to the liquid and perhaps some chopped peacans or walnuts. use butter in the pan and a low flame to heat it thru and gently brown each side.
i'd just used butter and a very light dusting of powdered sugar. enjoy!

My sister says "OH MY GOD IT's DELICIOUS! Just don't use a heavy egg solution, use a little water instead of milk to thin it out. Don't leave it to soak too long, it will be soggy and wont cook as easy."
I'm ready to try it out
