I put all the ingredients in a crockpot , using beef stew mix and some water,,, the thing is I won't be home by the time my husband gets home and eats this dish... I wonder if it's ok to add cornstarch now (it's been 2 hours since it started cooking on low) ,, I see lots of liquid (enough to cover all the veggies now)... I don't like using flour to thicken the sauce......... so please tell me what I should do... if I don't thicken the sauce it'll be like soup right? (I'm korean we don't eat that, my american husband doesn't tell me what he likes or what he doesn't like.....

I am an awful cook. I am trying to bake a very simple and easy cake to impress my mom. =)
Any recipes and suggestions?

My family and I lived in Japan for 7 years. While living there, the first course of many meals was a delicous corn soup. The soup was creamy, very smooth without any whole kernals in it. It was similar to a corn chowder, but not so heavy on the cream. I have tried several of the "instant" brands from Asian markets, but they are not nearly as good. If anyone has a recipe for something like it, I am dying to make it for the holidays!!

I want a cheese dip. I'm giving allrecipes.com a chance. I'm now looking at a pile of horribly written recipes that want me to use things like Velveeta, and cream of mushroom soup, instead of actual cheese.

It even has a recipe for baby food made with Campbell's cream-of-sodium. And 16 'Tater Tot' recipes. 645 with cream of mushroom, never mind other cream-of. 14 'Spam.' 128 recipes with frozen hash browns as an ingredient. 60 using potato chips. 55 'Miracle Whip.' Etc.

The recipes are often poorly written; when an ingredient does not come from a box in the freezer or a tin, it's ambiguous junk like '18 small potatoes' in lieu of the weight. 'Garlic salt' in lieu of fresh garlic -- the emphasis is on convenience/junk food. It's an amateur, un-edited mess.

It's mostly stuff like this:

Disgusting.

I'm sure there are a few good recipes on the site, but it's not worth wading through the garbage. What's the appeal??

I need a recipe that can provide a serving total...example: "Serves eight people". That way I can double or triple the recipe to make enough for everyone, or a recipe that makes ALOT of flan!

We took a bunch of chicken breasts out of the freezer, thawed them for 2 days, poked holes with a fork, then put them into a bag with italian dressing into the refrigerator... they have been in there for several days now.

We want to grill this but a friend told us you cant leave it in there that long, something about the dressing it makes it go bad...

Can anyone please help, dont want to get sick or anything.. should it still be good and how can we tell?

THANKS.

white beans? Any ideas? I have never used white beans before. The only bean soup I usually make is split pea soup. It always turns out great!

I have several recipes that say to mix the ingredients in a non-reactive bowl. I'm not sure what that means... a glass bowl?
