Cooking & Recipes (Food & Drink) - October 2006

I have a bunch of hamburger that has been frozen for 3 years. It was cut at a butcher, wrapped in plastic wrap then freezer paper and taped up. If thawed, will it still be edible? Ive heard one or two years is ok. Anyone know anything else?

What is chutney? My husband had a dish called Jalopeno- Mango- Chutney sauce that was put over Swordfish....?

Something new to do with Scallops and Snails?

I have been eating them sauteed with butter and lemon, and they are very nice, but a little boring. No deep frying, please, just something fresh to do with large scallops. Also if anyone has a recioe for escargots other than garlic butter and mushroom caps, I'd love to surprise my husband when he gets back next week!

What are some good and filling soup recipes?

My grandfather is having a stomach surgery soon.He has some stomach troubles and food doesnt hold to well with him.If he eats anything too heavy,it makes him ill and causes him great pain.His doctor recommended soups,although my grandfather despises canned soups(And i cannot blame him).We have made him potatoe soup and ran it through the blender.However,he is getting quite tired of that.If anyone has any healthy soup recipes that are also filling and can be ran through the blender for a smooth delicious soup,it would be greatly appreciated if you would share your ideas!!!Preferably without meats! Thank you in advance.

what are some good recipes for apple cobbler in a dutch oven?

We would like to bake an apple cobbler in a dutch oven on an open fire pit. I did this years ago in the boy scouts but do not remember how to prepare it.

I need to make an emergency bbq sauce! I have jelly and ketchup and other basics! HELP ASAP!?

I don't have worcestire sauce and it seems a lot of recipes online call for that so don't give me a link to a recipe that has that as an ingredient! I would really prefer tried and true recipes! THANKS SO VERY MUCH!!
