Your problem is that you're baking with either the wrong ingredients or the wrong recipe. If you intend to make a glass of vodka, y ou're fine, but if the recipe ends up making cake, you got the wrong recipe.

Either way, you're going to have a glass of Vodka.

About 5 yrs ago, someone sent me a similar email regarding the best christmas cake they had ever made, and it was basically the same lines. except the alcohol was some liqueur.
Substitutions are fine in baking ,if you keep them to a minimum. Try to keep the bacis ingredients intact though or you wont have a finished product, just a cook who's finished, well and truly done !

You bet they are. I always subsitute something I have, for something I don't have. If a recipe calls for water, but the water is turned off, use some kind of juice.
