On the directions on the back of a box of a cake mix, they tell you to user a mixer. On the back of a brownie box they tell you to stir it. Why?

I am looking for the recipe for the Floating Island Dessert that was big in the 1950s. It was featured on the Martha Stewart Show a few months ago, I taped it but recorded over it by accident, and it is not posted on the website any longer.

I am cooking a pork roast this weekend for bbq. My question is what is the best bbq sauce from a bottle? What can I add to the bottle bbq sauce to taste a little bit better? I don't want my bbq pork to taste like it had just came out of a bottle.

I am roasting a beef loin and slicing it into thin medallions. I will serve it with dollar rolls for people to tear apart and make sandwiches. What would be a good spread to offer for people to use? (plain mayo mixed with rosemary? etc)

And should I put out some sliced cheese to on the sandwiches too? If so, which variety of cheese?

Thank you for sharing your input and recipes!!!
