I am cooking a pork roast this weekend for bbq. My question is what is the best bbq sauce from a bottle? What can I add to the bottle bbq sauce to taste a little bit better? I don't want my bbq pork to taste like it had just came out of a bottle.
Thanks for the help in adacance.

Just made your own~it is easy~~I am not a big fan of the bottled BBQ sauce but if I have to purchase it I buy Rendevouz~it has a "down home flavor"~~

Uncle Joe's BBQ Sauce:

1 medium onion, grated or processed in food processor
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 8-oz cans of tomato sauce
1/2 c. vinegar
1/4 c. worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp Louisiana hot sauce
1 1/2 Tbsp powdered mustard
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup Heinz catsup
1/2 lemon

Saute onion and garlic in olive oil. Add other ingredients, squeeze in the lemon juice (Uncle Joe threw in the lemon rind~I don't). Simmer about 20 minutes, stirred frequently. Makes about a quart of wonderful sauce~

TRY IT!

I too would say Sweet Baby Rays. HOWEVER... if you want to change it up a bit, put some kind of a pork rub on the meat while you are cooking it. that way the meat will be covered in seasoning and the the bbq sauce will better and a little difference

Barbeque Sauce
This makes a great barbeque sauce. We have used it on grilled items and oven baked items as well. We like spicy - so I add cayenne pepper for an extra kick! Hint -- I save my barbeque sauce bottles so I can pour this sauce into them. That way what I don't use I can save for use later.
2 (18 ounce) bottles barbecue sauce
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup steak sauce
2 tablespoons dried onion flakes
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper (optional)
1 (12 fluid ounce) can cola drink
8-10

1. In a medium bowl, mix together barbeque sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, steak sauce, and onion flakes and cayenne pepper.
2. Pour in the cola and stir until blended.

*Pick your favorite sauce and add this to it*

We like the original Kraft BBQ sauce. We have tried many different brands and flavors, but the classic is what we keep coming back to.

As Angela pointed out.... a DRY RUB (don't be shy and pur it on and rub it in! Take the stuff in the link provided for example but there are others you can make on your own too. The Barrel House stuff is good enough to eat on it's own! Rub the stuff in and let sit in a ziplock overnight!
