Many ways. You can boil or saute in a pan with some butter or olive oil and garlic or if they are frozen just dump in the pan and keep stirring. And the first poster is correct. Shrimp cook up very fast so watch closely. They get nice and pink. Happy eating.

Well of course there are many ways to cook shrimp, but your main goal is to cook them to the point to where they are NOT rubbery. Here is a really good recipe from America's Test Kitchen. A very reliable source also...

The cooking times below are for 21/25 shrimp (that is, the size of the shrimp is such that there are 21 to 25 in 1 pound). If 21/25 shrimp are not available, adjust cooking times slightly. Either a nonstick or traditional skillet will work for this recipe, but a nonstick will simplify cleanup.

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 1/2 pounds shrimp (21/25 count), peeled and deveined
1/4 teaspoon table salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon granulated sugar

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in 12-inch skillet over high heat until smoking. Meanwhile, toss shrimp, salt, pepper, and sugar in medium bowl. Add half of shrimp to pan in single layer and cook until spotty brown and edges turn pink, about 1 minute. Remove pan from heat; using tongs, flip each shrimp and let stand until all but very center is opaque, about 30 seconds. Transfer shrimp to large plate. Repeat with remaining tablespoon oil and shrimp; after second batch has stood off heat, return first batch to skillet and toss to combine. Cover skillet and let stand until shrimp are cooked through, 1 to 2 minutes. Serve immediately.

shrimp cook very quickly.

They have protiens that can even cook at room temperature, so keep them very cold before cooking. Shrimp should alway smell clean, and not like ammonia. There should never be any dark spots on them.

This is actually one meat that is better to be bought frozen than thawed.

Depending on the size, boiling for 2 to 4 minutes is perfect. For grilling or sauteeing, just as their back (where the vein was) begins to get opaque, they're done! They are at their sweetest when just cooked through and not tightly curled up like little springs.

Pan fry it with some minced garlic or bake it (as in baked stuffed).

It all depends on what I'm cooking it for... I add shrimp to a terrific linguine in white wine dish I make. The shrimp would be added to the ingredients in my frying pan for that.

I use Old Bay seasoning and there is recipe on the side of the container. I think most seafood/crab boil mixes have a recipe on the container.

Be careful not to overcook the shrimps or they will get rubbery.

Stir-fry or grill.
But one of my favorite ways to eat shrimp is simply boil, cool and serve as shrimp cocktail.

Depends on your recipe. If you're making shrimp scampi, you sautee it in butter. If you're making peel-and-eat shrimp, you boil it with Old Bay. I prefer scampi, but boiled shrimp is easier.

The fastest way is to boil it. Put it in rolling boiling water until it turns pink. Usually it will take 3 minutes at most. Then enjoy!
