Weddings

I come from a well to do family and I have my own business and am good with managing my money. He has kidney failure and keeping his head above water with his now 2yr old kidney transplant. He professes to love me a great deal and has worked on trying to get us a house and be a provider but things haven't been going as planned. His suggestion is that we marry soon, he loves me and we've been together a long time and have been inserparable nontheless. The thing standing in our way is no expenses for a wedding or a ring. On the otherhand he doesn't want me to feel like I'm settling. The things I would preper, he is not able to provide. A lot contributed to his sickness. We have our share of problems. I was concerned of what others would think of me. Just 2 days ago, he ended our relationship. He said he understood that right now he just couldn't provide what I would be comfortable with and he also wants God's approval on his lifestyle and 2yr of this have past. I am so hurt

My girlfriend is visiting me and I am planning on taking her for a tour of the city since this is the first time she is visiting NYC.

I plan on proposing to her. However, me and her are kinda shaky at the moment. We are still definitely together and loving, but we have a few quarrels between us, that we need to work out. (its a common thing [unfortunately])

I am not sure when i should do it. I know for a fact that she will be VERY happy when i do propose to her, because she is always talking about it..

She arrives in the morning, and leaves next morning. I really want for her to be happy with me the whole time she is here, so i thought i might propose early. but then i realized that it would be more dramatic and meaningful if i did it later in the evening, or right before she was about to leave.

What should i do? should i wait till the next morning or evening and find another way to cheer her up?, or shall i propose right away, so that she can be happy

Called off wedding 2 weeks before the date. Bride's parents had given her a financial gift for the wedding she paid some of the expenses with. Now her parents threaten legal action to recoup the expenses from groom who called off wedding. Do they have any legal basis for their threat?

I got married in February in the courthouse...the witnesses were two friends of my husband's whom I did not know at the time (but since have become good friends with). We had a small reception afterwards, no honeymoon.

Is it selfish of me to want to do a real wedding? I know we can't afford it; we're tight on money just trying to get a better car. He's in Iraq right now (since October), but he said when he gets back we can have a 'wedding' (renewal of vows) ceremony, but he told me to plan all the details and I am trying to save money for it, but he keeps spending money in ridiculous amounts on things he has absolutely no need for, nor do I, and isn't sticking to the financial plan we had agreed on. I don't think he really meant it when he said we would have a ceremony.

I feel cheated out of a wedding and honeymoon...should I just get over it, or are these feelings reasonable?

My fiancee and I have looked at a dozen wedding sites and finally found one we loved. Throughout the ordeal my mother and her father were putting in there two cents non stop about where they wanted it. The place we chose is phenomenal and my finacee's parents loved it too. The place does not compare to any other. Keep in mind my girls parents are paying for most of it.

My mother who is agoraphobic doesnt like the place we picked because of a few reasons. Basically she is phobic and does not think she can handle the place. She complains about everyhwere we picked more or less so we didnt think there was any serious issue until now. My fiancee is in tears almost every night with this predicament. She wants this place badly, and I dont want to pick between her and my mothers hapiness but i would definitely pick my future wife. Either way one will resent the other. My feeling is my mom will have to figure it out. take some valium or something to calm her. Its mostly t What to do?

We have been together for 2 years and have been through alot making us very close.We have a special bond not like any other couple.He has always been there for me as have I.I know I love him and I know he loves me and he tells me he wants to spend the rest of his life with me all the time.The other day I was telling him how my mom was asking if we wanted to get engaged soon and this isnt really something that ive thought about(at 19) but i know i want to spend the rest of my life with him and if he would ask me to marry him i would say yes(have a long engagement tho). He said that he has been thinking about that but the way I am wen I get upset worries him and I do admit I might not be the most reasonable person wen im angry but its not like I go crazy and we both need to work on how we are when we r upset. Does he just say these things to me or does he really mean them...and if he does mean them y wouldnt he want to get engaged? Does he not lov me as much as i lov him?

I am getting married very soon. We have not "officially" set the date yet..but it will be within six months. I love my fiance VERY much..i love his mom and dad (even though they can be a pain) and his sister is great..most of the time..but sometimes she gets on my nerves. Little things that go along with planning a wedding she is driving me insane about..like i want to wear a tiara..she exclamed "you can NOT wear a tiara...you are not a queen or something.." and i HATE and i mean WITH PASSION i HAAATE white tuxs..and she is insisting (and trying to bring her mom my mom and my fiance into the argument) that he HAS to wear a white tux. K iam a univeristy student 3rd year science major (want 2 b a doc). I have been dateing my high school sweet heart 4 5 years and want to propose. Here is the thing, I work part time and live at home. SHe grew up in a some what rich family (dad was a lawer). I grew up in an upper class society, but I don't have the money right now to buy her the ring she deserves. I am in a tough spot. I love my fiancee with all my heart. For some reason though she hates my family. Granted there have been times when they seem to have reservations about us. They do love her though. My mom has even gotten us honeymoon reservations in Hawaii and is paying for most of our wedding. Still my fiancee insists that they hate her and that they think she is freeloading off of me since I am helping her through school (she'll be helping me when she is nursing after next semester). I've told her and they've told her that they lover her, but she thinks they're all fake just to be courteous to me. Now she doesn't even want to have anything to do with them. I've missed Christmas Eve with my family, which is very important to me, just to be with her and show her that she is still #1. I don't know what to do. Everyone who is nice to her (friends, family) is just "fake" in her eyes with the exception of me.
