It depends...I had a small, short reception at the church where I got married. I don't like to dance, so we didn't. The "party" pretty much ends when you leave. If you aren't leaving on your honeymoon that night (or at all) you may want to consider renting a hotel room in your town or nearby (the best one you can comfortably afford) that night and just enjoy yourself. I got married on a Saturday morning and we went to a nearby town for the night. We had a horse-drawn carriage ride and champagne, etc. Your wedding will be whatever you make of it, so do what feels right!

Well, after the wedding people have receptions where they do all of that. Its where they eat dinner or a meal, and they dance, and they relax as well. Its sort of like a party in a way.

the day after the wedding, you can have a brunch with the guests still in town, and/or open your presents. if you're going on a honeymoon, start packing! other than that, relax and enjoy the first day as a married couple!

I think you should keep yourself busy or you'll end up going thru wedding withdrawls. Lots of women get depressed after their wedding. You plan something for a year and its over in 6 hours and you are gonna end up being bored if you just sit around.

i will have a dinner because in our culture we do not get time to eat more because, the process is about 3 days to complete marriage..but its all funny and full of entertainment...
