the idea: im at arrivals and when she walks through the doors i am there with a huge bunch of roses, down on one knee with a ring in one hand and a name card in the other saying marry me....

Isn't she gonna be already kinda stressed coming out of an airport?
What if she decides (for whatever reason, stress-of-the-moment/trip, uncertainty, etc.) to say "let's talk"? Can you stand the public humiliation, and is she going to have take a cab home?
Just things to think about. You have to consider both possible responses, not just the good one.

that sounds quite scary, she will be tired and stressed and will just be grateful to see a familiar face. why not wait til you get home, run a bath.. lots of candles surrounding the tub.. champagne... then pop the question why you share the bath? having said that.. some of the most romantic proposals are the spur of the moment ones that arent planned in advance-the ones that truly come from the heart.
