My boyfriend of 5 years and I are getting married. Everything was all great we have the date picked out and everything Now comes time to start paying for things for the wedding. and thats where the problems come in

we have had arguments in the past about the wedding and he believes my parents should be paying, as it is tradition, but being chinese and in chinese tradition the guy's side pays, my parents already told me they aren't paying, they'll give me some money to help out but the rest is on my and my groom. I don't make that much money (being a school psychologist) and he makes twice as much as me. I suggested we split costs, I'll pay half he'll pay half. He agreed, after a while. But now his parents are up in a roar over it, saying that I should pay for the wedding since it's "tradition." I really don't think that's being fair. I have a feeling they don't like me they keep telling him that I'm ruining tradition.he's white Im chinese different traditions! I don't know what to do.

Hi, I'm 13. NO I am not getting married! My friend who is 20 is engaged and I want to know what would make a good present. Preferably something 20 bucks or less. Honestly I have no idea what a wedding gift might be. Thanks for the help everyone!

My fiance and I are two completely different people when it comes to what we like. He wants to go to Alaska for our honeymoon. I want somewhere tropical. Can anyone suggest something that has the beautiful mountain scenery and secluded like alaska, but also somewhere where I can feel like I am really on a honeymoon, not a hunting trip....

People can do what they want I suppose. Doesn't it seem like the guy wants to put the women on "lay-away"? I have a few friends like this, my fiance and I joke about it and he even says "those guys are leading them on".

I'm just asking out of curiosity, here (very single right now, and enjoying it!). If you're married/engaged, how did you choose your bride's maids? If you're not, how will/would you? I think that if I ever do marry, I'll probably ask a couple of my closest friends, my one younger sister, and the oldest daughter of each of my older sisters (I've got three older sisters, all of whom are married and have at least one daughter. Having all of them would just make the bridal party too big). So how would you/did you do it?

My brother is proposing to his girlfriend and she always talks about finding a ring inside a fortune cookie. Where can I find a company that can help him with that?

White or Ivory/champagne? I have dark hair and I would be going tanning everyday!

Who typically sits next to the bride at the reception? I'm figuring that it is the maid of honor, but I'm checking.

We are having a small (30 people) wedding, and I kind of wanted my mom to sit next to me during the reception. I feel rude telling my maid of honor this, because I think she is suppose to, and she's pretty much a "by-the-books" person.

Any suggestions? Thanks

What is an ok (average) price for an average wedding? Feel free to share the cost of your wedding and how nice it was. Thanks

I have seen a dress from a seller in china. Its stunning and so much cheaper than buying it a wedding store. But really worried it might end up wasting my money.

I decided to try to make my own wedding invitations because I just can't bring myself to pay hundreds of dollars for what is basically paper. I mean I figured the whole point of an invitation is just to get the word on time and stuff (and kind of set the tone). So I bought very nice quality textured paper, found a good font and the perfect color ink to match my wedding and printed them out. I think they look good. Then I started reading way too many bridal magazines and now Im worried that it's "not appropriate" to make your own invitations. Would you think an invitation that wasn't engraved or letterpress or calligraphy was cheap and stupid?

Hello! We need some help deciding on a filling for a chocolate cake. The cake is the Groom's cake and the lady making it said she can do any filling, all we had to do was ask.

But what goes good with chocolate, other than more chocolate? I don't like cherry filling and our wedding cake is strawberry with Bavarian creme filling.

Ideas would be appreciated.

I have read conflicting articles saying it is or isn't traditional for the bride and groom to exchange gifts. We will be exchanging gifts regardless. I decided on my own, and will not change my mind, that I want the gift to become an heirloom. I only have $100-200 to spend on the gift. Yes, I would like to spend more, but circumstances (long story) won't allow it right now.

What was your experience? Was the dress good quality? Is there anything I should be cautious about? The dresses are so beautiful, but I'm a little apprehensive about it.

It's in a yard, and I want something to guide traffic so people are not scattered everywhere across the lawn to get to the benches. I was thinking small shepherds hooks with ribbons tied thru to kind of fence in the area (low to the ground), but I can't find them sold locally. I need help, wedding is next month.

Please give a link to the dress.
Its going to be a beach wedding, but its in Dec.
I would like it to be white, but no satin please. I am petite and have a big bust. So I'm not sure if I'm going to do the strapless thing or not. Trying to lose some weight so it maybe possible by then. Also, the groom is planning to wear some type of casual pant suit. You know like for a beach wedding. If you could give me some links for those that would be great. Thanks alot!!!!!!!!!!

I cant believe it. I missed my cousin's wedding. I promised her I would go. I even RSVPed like three weeks ago and I am going to miss it. It just seemed like everything that could go wrong did. I didn't even call her to let her know because I just decided to stay home. I dont wanna call her an hour before she walks down the aisle or during the reception. I cant believe I am going to miss my cousin's wedding.
