well first of all realise that ALL wedding dresses are pretty much made in china, so the quality should be comparable, then, if it's custom made, it should be made to your specifications, so should require little alteration, and definately check credentials. A really great sell is Kanacca.com, I don't think they are through e-bay, but I have ordered 3 dresses through them, all turned out wonderful. (wedding consultant)

I am one of the people who is ordering my dress on ebay from one of those sites where the dress is made in China. At first I was worried, but I too figured that everything came from there in the first place so I could save tons by ordering direct. Also, they ask for so many measurments that it didn't seem a big deal. I had two questions for the company and each time I was answered by e-mail in less than 24 hours. So the customer service seems great. They have lots of feedback and many testimonials. I say, what the heck, and am giving it a shot.

Let me begin by saying that I have not bought a wedding dress from China.
I have, however, bought several lovely custom wool gabardine business suits and blouses from a website tailor from Thailand called www.mycustomtailor.com. The quality of the fabric and workmanship has been top notch -- they make comparably priced off-the-rack suits from department stores look cheaply made. They make evening dresses, and I noticed on their site that they do bridesmaids dresses. If you are looking for a fairly simple design, maybe they can work with you. Good luck!

When I bought my wedding dress off of Ebay a few weeks ago I almost consider buying one from China. Where you give them your measurements, etc and they custom make it since it was such a good price, etc.
I decided not to go that route though since I found other dresses from Ebay almost equal in price and alot cheaper shipping
This is who I order from http://stores.ebay.com/Great-Deal-Bridal and I got a brand new dress with tags
ALL gowns and dresses that we sell are quality brand new, direct from the manufacturer. They are never been worn or used. They are still in the original manufacturers packaging,
And my dress was $82.50 with shipping
Congrats on your wedding by the way and I sure you will make a beautiful bride.....

I would suggest maybe not going that route. Two main reasons why:
1) The dress measurements are going to be very different to what you might expect. To avoid trouble with size, make sure you take your measurements VERY carefully.
2) The quality is going to be very questionable.

i am planning to order mine from a seller in china. i contacted several people who had ordered from them to get pics of the dresses they were made.
i was pleased with the pics and everyone was more than happy to send them and relate their experiences.
you should do the same... contact buyers...
1 said the straps needed to be shortened on her dress... easily fixed by seamstress localy.
1 other said she didn't like the fact that the underside/inside of the dress was a lil less than perfect- i'm not lifting my skirt to show ppl my underside lol
everyone else said they came out just perfect!

You can not contact other buyers thru ebay. If you do, that is called auction interference and can get you kicked off ebay. Read the feedback. How long have they been on ebay? How much are they charging for shipping? These are usually copies of famous designers. Look for auctions closer to home and compare. Can you get it for a better price? Remember those shipping charges! And look to see HOW LONG it will take for it to get to you. DO you have enough time for Plan B if they fail to deliver???
