My husband's Aunt that he is really close to is attending, but now his cousins aren't because of school conflicts and work. Originally they said that they were coming, but now they can't. Do you think this is rude? Should I take it as bad like they have something against me? His cousins are like 15, 17, and 20 years old. The 15 yr old has a girlfriend (I think) and the 20 year old has a boyfriend (not sure). I only put on the invitation his Aunt and family. I didn't specify that his cousing could bring thier bf or gf. I don't even know for sure if they even had one or not, because I don't see them a lot and they are never at the family get together's. Could they be offended that I did't invite their BF or GF? or Am I just looking into this too hard?

I am Catholic, though not very "hard-core" i do not go to churhc every Sun., though I do believe in the Catholic beliefs. My finacee, who I have been with for 7 years, is Mormon, he has not been practicing for several years, however, believes that the Mormon church is the "right church". While this isn't going to split us up, I am concerned about having children. I would prefer not to raise them Mormon, as it is very hard for me to understand and accept what the religion teachs and preachs. I do not feel that they should need to be Catholic, but they need some type of religion. I have tried to suggest other religions that we may be able to settle on and my Finacee is not budging. My parents were 2 different religions (Lutheran and Catholic) which are very similar. I am not asking him to convert, however, his family thinks I should convert to Mormonism. My grandfather was Mormon and didn't have a good expirience and I am having a hard time saying I will raise my kids as Mormon.

My boyfriend and I have been talk about getting engaged, he has already done some ring browsing, and he has an idea of what type of ring I would like. I have also been searching for the jaw dropping ring and have seen several, which are very reasonably priced, in talking under $500.00. So my question is, would it be presumptuous of me to email him pictures and prices, and places of the rings I like?

ceremony starts at 3pm with reception and dinner to follow immediately after -all taking place in same venue. non-religious......not a strictly AM or PM wedding....no bridesmaids etc...though bride will be appropiately princess-like in attire, so as sister of the groom what is good to wear?

So I'm usually a very layed back person. I'm getting married in a couple months and I'm soo stressed out. The main reason is because my future mother in law is driving me insane! She went out with my future sister in law and had my furture sis pick out all my wedding acessories like (guestbook, cake cutting stuff, wedding glasses etc.) I'm soo upset because I don't like any of the stuff it isn't me at all. I don't know what to do. I think I should of been asked what I would of really liked. Am I wrong to think this?

I want my boyfriend & I to sit down with my mom and dad (separately b/c they're divorced) at dinner and tell them of our plans for engagement and upcoming wedding. We've been living together for 3 years now and have been planning this wedding for the past year or so. He thinks its a good idea rather then him asking them (since he doesn't know my dad very well anyway) alone.

So why no ring? I don't like long engagements. I don't like all the hype that goes into weddings. I love planning it, but without ALL the family obligations and input. So the later I hold off on a ring, the later I have to deal with that stuff.

But is it okay to tell and discuss with parents the situation or should I wait until there is a ring (which won't be for a few more months). I figure they play a too important role in this that they should know sooner....with ring or not.

What do you think?

Thanks for your answers.

My reception location does not have kitchen facilities (its a long story), so I was thinking I would like to have the dinner at a restaurant that is about a five minute walk away. The restaurant has a glassed in balcony that is separate from the rest of the restaurant. I was thinking of reserving the entire balcony and ordering the food in advance. I would like for us to do our toasts there and everything. Invited to the dinner will be the parents and complete wedding party plus dates/ immeadiate familes. DOes this sound amature or nice? The resaurant is european and quite fancy, the food is great and the servers are polite and friendly... I'm nervous that people will dislike the arrangements though, what do you think?

I don't dance at all and my son is getting married in one month. I will be expected to dance at least once with my new daughter in law and want to know what is the best one step for me to learn. Obviously it needs to be simple.

Hello,
So I went to pick out my wedding dress yesterday and found a beautiful Augusta Jones dress that I love. I had to try on the dress at six months pregnant which is not a brides dream LOL but it had to be done before the baby was born since I have time to lose weight being that the wedding is in october. But she decided to order my dress in a 18 which was really scary because when not pregnant I am a 7-8 LOL She said that she just had to make sure it would fit when the day came which I am sure she knows what she is talking about. I guess my only concern is when I do get back to a 7-8 do you think a alterater really can get the dress to look exactly the same after removing all that fabric???? I am just a bit nervous because my best girlfriend thinks it will be off balance.

Ok so I have really cool friends and they've planned a huge bachelorette party for me (which includes a stripper!) My fiances friends are all married and controlled by their wives (no strippers allowed). They are planning to take my fiance to the bating cages to hit baseballs and to hooters for dinner - thats all. I feel bad for him because he wants a wild party like what Im having. I am completely comfortable in our relationship and want him to have the time of his life. Should i make suggestions to his best man? If so what should I say?

I am in touch with many friends via email because most are students still and live away from home. Is it poor etiquette to send out wedding invitation via email? Do people do that now or should I resort to the tedious tasks of gathering mailing addresses from all over the country?

My husband to be and I keep bickering over his family time. My family is all in town, almost all of his are at least an hour away. The problem is, I always get left out. If I get upset or tell him I feel left out, I somehow always end up the bad guy because I "don't want him to spend time with his family." But when he spends time with him, its like he suddenly tosses me aside, and the time frame messes with me. He wants to go spend time out with his sister, but it can't be just leaving, say 4ish driving up there and hanging out and coming back, He has to leave at noon on sat. and not come back till sunday evening. I just don't feel that its reasonable, and he never has a compromise.

Hi everyone,

Some friends of our's are renewing their wedding vow's, They have been married for ten years with three children. When they got married they eloped so this time around they want to share it with friends and family.
My question is...Do we still bring a gift? And if so would a monatary gift be alright? It's a small reception at a local restaurant. I don't know that many details of the dinner and drinks situation so I'm not sure how much of a monatary gift we should give?

Their good friends but not really close friends, My husband went to school with the husband and they coach boy's hockey in the fall and winter together.

Thak You for any help.

I am getting married soon to a wonderful man. We are interacial couple. My mother said that I am not suppose to see my groom on the wedding day before the wedding. And she said I am not suppose to go to church with him in the same car. But I am taking with the wedding party at church before the ceromoney. In my culture it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride in her wedding dress before the ceromoney. I think that's just superstition. I am a christian and I don't believe in superstitions. But my mom says I am stubbern and I don't want to listen. She said even American culture follows that. She said infact all cultures follow that. What's the meaning behind it? The point I was trying to make to my mom was if my culture believes that something bad might happen to the groom or bride if they see each other before the wedding then it's silly and superstitious. I wasn't hell bent on getting in my fiance's car and going to church with him. Does everyone follow this tradition?

I'm about to begin my quest for the perfect wedding dress, but am confused about sizing. my regular dress size is a 12-14, but I have heard that wedding dress sizes don't work that way. I can't seem to find a chart online? Does anyone know how wedding dresses are sized, and how I can figure out what my size will be before I go into a bridal store?
