Hello,
So I went to pick out my wedding dress yesterday and found a beautiful Augusta Jones dress that I love. I had to try on the dress at six months pregnant which is not a brides dream LOL but it had to be done before the baby was born since I have time to lose weight being that the wedding is in october. But she decided to order my dress in a 18 which was really scary because when not pregnant I am a 7-8 LOL She said that she just had to make sure it would fit when the day came which I am sure she knows what she is talking about. I guess my only concern is when I do get back to a 7-8 do you think a alterater really can get the dress to look exactly the same after removing all that fabric???? I am just a bit nervous because my best girlfriend thinks it will be off balance.

Well the reason why I am concerned with numbers is because my mom spent over $2000.00 on this dress and would feel awful if it diden't turn out to be a $2000.00 dress. Of course I am excited about having our baby this is our second child so I know I can get back down to size. I just had to order it in advance because I don't want to have to worry about a dress I would rather have it done and leave more time with my babies.

I think you need a smaller size for sure! You will have a few months to get these pounds off. Your not going to be a 7 or 8 at the wedding but your not going to be a 18 either. It really depends on how much of the weight gain is just from the baby and if you have been putting on a lot of weight besides that. You doctor will inform you how much is the baby and how much is really just you. Its going to be mostly the baby, but a lot of women tend to eat alot more while pregant and end up gaining lots of weight at the end. So I would try to get a size three or four smaller than what she has ordered such as a 14-16. This way it will practically fit you perfect and need only to be downsized a bit. Having it downsize from a 18 will make the dress off balance like your best friend had said. It wont look excatly the way you want it to, or at least not the same as if it was not altered.
Congrats

I think you will be ok. As a mother of two, I can almost promise you that unless you have a unique body, your body will not be quite like it was before you got pregnant. You wont look bad, but you will be different. Usually your hips will be fuller and you will have some sort of belly difference as well.Having a baby changes your body. So I think you will be good. Since wedding gowns are usually smaller anyway, it may not be that big of a difference to the dress and a good taylor can work wonders.
You have alot more to consentrate on now, dont worry about your dress.
Good luck with your baby!!!

I am a size 9 and they had to order my dress in a 14...I told them I was going to lose some weight before my wedding and they told me that my dress could be altered two sizes without looking funny...so I would say lose some but not all before the wedding and after the wedding lose like crazy!!!

Are you going to be breastfeeding? if so you will burn an added 500 energy an afternoon. have you ever gained better than the counseled weight with this being pregnant? If no longer seem for a gown which would be definitely altered and anticipate to unfastened a minimum of 15 - 20 lbs 3-4 weeks post transport. in basic terms bear in concepts early or previous due transport may additionally impact this. sturdy success!

Your girlfriend is probably right. If I was you, I would wait and order my dress in August. You will be closer to your true size, and wont need crazy alterations.
If you really want to order it now, take your previous weight loss after your first pregnancy as a sign that you will not be a size 18 (translated to a size 14 in wedding gowns) afterwards.
I would get a size 14...

Wedding gowns are NOT sized the same as regular clothes.
Stop fixating on the numbers and concentrate on the celebration and excitement of your baby-to-be and your wedding. Best wishes.

Girl, you shouldn't be wearing a traditional wedding dress considering the circumstances! Just wear a pretty dress, and forego all the junk.
