I am getting married in May 2008 and really want to have a picnic reception. Checkered tablecloths, picnic tables, unbrellas, lemoneade. Flowers in mason jars.....candles....outdoor cermony and reception. Some sort of BBQ and picnic type food. Anyone been to a wedding like this? Any ideas? What would you think as a guest?

This is the dress I bought...I absolutely fell in love with it as soon as I saw it and I saved a lot of money by not buying an actual wedding gown. What do you think??

My brother and I are throwing my parents a small surprise 25th Anniversary Party. We have lots of friends that live out of town and will not be able to attend. I would like to think of a way to include them: ie. have them send cards, have them send funny stories about my parents, have them send pics of my parent's early life, etc. but I would like for it to be really creative. Please help. Thanks!

My brother and his fiancee are getting married there in April. I was told by a friend that they would have to have a civil service at the Courthouse when they got back to be "legally" married. Does anyone know about this?

I just recieved my wedding invitations in the mail!!! My wedding is in July and I don't know how far in advance I should give out the invitations.

I am mailing some locally, some out of state, and others out of the country, and I am hand delivering some as well.

Does anyone know how far in advance I should send each invitation out for each particular delivery?

We are basically eloping, just my fiance, myself, our 2 kids and a witness or two will be there. We want to get married within an hour away from Watertown, NY, but don't know where to look because neither of us has lived here very long.

I always thought it to be the norm for the Father to walk the Bride down the isle. But my mom wants to also. My dad wants to be traditional and do it alone. My parents are divorced, but on good terms and my father says that he'd feel the same even if they were still married. I agree with my dad, and want to be traditional. Any suggestions on how to let my mom down easy without making her feel left out?

Planning a wedding for 40 or fewer people in southern New Hampshire or northern MA anytime during the Month of August, September, October or November. My only two musts are that it has a dance floor or at least a reception hall with hardwood floors all around. I don't care if it's on a weekday, in the morning, etc. And no buffets. I'm hoping for a plated dinner. Does anyone have suggestions?

I am looking for one or two white doves to release at my wedding in Oct in memory of my mom who passed away last year. I've heard the only thing I can get is white pigeons, but I really want to find doves if possible(money isn't an issue). Any ideas on who has them or where I can find some (I'm in the KC area) or am I stuck with using pigeons?

I recently got engaged valentine weekend, my fiance lives out of town. We have been together for four years and it's only been three months since we have been apart. Well its hard on chosing a date because I want the wedding before the end of the year so I can be with him sooner. I can tell he wants it early next year to save up more money for a really nice wedding and to make sure I have a good roof over my head and a nice bank account, in case I dont have a job when I get down there. I am worried we won't last a year and some months being long distance too much longer andto have a wedding in March in Chicago can be scary. What should I do, should I continue to push a November wedding or take ease off of him and wait until next year.

Ok, so my wedding is over a year away but I am starting everything now. I live in a very northern town, we are busy, but with not enough business and services. I want to have a fondant wedding cake. No one does these here, well there is one girl, but her cakes taste like crap.

I am going to make my own cake. So I want to do a 3 or 4 tier cake and I was wondering if I am to stack them right on top of each other how I go about doing this, you know the ones with no spaces. I have a pretty heavy chocolate fudge cake I want to use (yes they are traditionally white, but hey, I am wearing a red dress!) So anyways, how to I keep the cake from sinking into each other.

It's not that I am cheap, hell I would spend 500 bucks on a cake if thats what it took, but there is no one up here that does cakes the way I want and I know I will kick but at it as I already kick but at normal cakes. I will be doing a test run of this first to make sure my wedding day is perfect.

At that part where they say "if anyone objects to this union, speak now or forever hold your peace", or whatever it is (I'm not married), and someone objects, do they stop the wedding from proceeding?
