My brother and his fiancee are getting married there in April. I was told by a friend that they would have to have a civil service at the Courthouse when they got back to be "legally" married. Does anyone know about this?

They will just have to have the paperwork from the American consult signed is all and I'm sure that IF they're planning a wedding in Jamica those things will be taken care of at the proper time, through whomever is officiating.

People get married in Jamacia all the time but I know there are some special papers that they will have to fill out....I would contact an officiant in Jamacia to find out what legal documents they will have to have!!!

the us may not recognize the serivce. my u ncle has been married twice out of the country and both times he had to have it legalized in the US. its easy just get a traveling minister to do it at his house one day after they get back. my uncle paid like 100 bucks when he got back for the second one.
