Hi! I was married on October 22, 2004 and I chose a beautiful wine colored dress. The girls loved it, and it really fit with a fall wedding. And hey... if you like the deep orange dress (which sounds quite lovely), then get it! It's your wedding!

before picking a color look around see you can get a vest an tie to match for the guys, oranges are pretty hard to match up. Also look into what type of decorations you can find in those colors. Using either dark brown or Burgundy as the main color would be easiest (as far as ribbons and decorations and etc) then use orange and what other color you didn't choose to use as the main color as accent colors. example do brown dresses with orange and Burgundy bouquets (it's hard to find brown flowers) or brown dress with an orange sash. And depending on the style of bridesmaids dresses brown or Burgundy can be worn again. But in the end it is your wedding, You bridesmaids need to understand that wearing a dress you pick is part of their duty. When it is their turn you'll wear what they say.

Most people, especially those of plus-size origins, do not want to be stuck in an orange dress because they make them look as though they were one of those orange barrel things that you see on the highway when it is under construction. Seeing that the bridesmaids are probably the ones who will end up paying for the dresses and I am sure you don't want to face bridesmaid's revenge, I would put it to a vote with your bridesmaids. Burgundy and brown would really be some good choices because they look good on ALL body types; nevertheless, you can have some wear gold, others wear a deep orange, others wear burgundy, etc. Or you can just have the girls wear one color of your choosing, but work the remaining colors in your color scheme as accessories, e.g., having them carry bouquets tied with bows of orange, brown, gold, and burgundy, or having them wear jewelry in the colors you like or even decorate their hair in accessories of that color scheme. Hope this helps!!!

I'm getting married September 29, 2007 and I picked a Dark Lilac dress and they are going to carry Fall Orange colored flowers. To me those are really pretty fall colors. If you don't like that but really wanna use the orange color, I've seen girls pick a Chocolate color dress and do Orange flowers. But just remember, in the end it's your wedding. You can't let you bridesmaids make your choices for you. Pick the colors you want.

I have no idea how many bridesmaids you have, but I thought it would be so neat if they each had a dress in a seperate colour! The colours that you've listed of course. You can order the same or similar dress in a huge varriety of colours as well. As for your two girls throwing a fit because you would like them to wear orange, that was quite rude of them. The day is about you! I don't imagine that you're going to be having them looking ridiculous either, and just tell them that. Tell them that you want them to match your criteria of what you see for your wedding, and have them look beautiful at the same time. :)

I picked out a few dresses for my girls to try on, and in the end, the ended up choosing the same dress, (not one that I had picked out) and it worked, because we could all agree on it. There was no changing the colour though, and I wanted something elegant, not flashy nor trashy. Just set your guidelines. :) Good luck!

Its your wedding not theirs, they should just be happy for you. When they have a wedding they get to choose. Deep orange sounds great, unless you are set burgundy is always good also. Make sure you see your bridesmaid in the deep orange because you might not like how deep orange looks on them. Always remember there are a few choices to bridesmaids dresses if you have several with different shapes and figures. Congrats and good luck.

Pick a color that looks good on your bridesmaids! If you pick an unflattering color for them, you're really going to regret it in your pictures.

Yes, it is your wedding, but these girls are forking over a lot of money for a dress they will never wear again. At least make it one that they'll like. And believe me, it is a lot easier to accomodate your bridesmaids on this and accept a color you might not love but looks good on your girls (you aren't wearing it anyway).

Choosing the color and style of the bridesmaid dresses is one of the most stressful parts of planning the wedding (next to the guest list). Make things as easy for everyone as possible, and you'll be much happier.

I was going to suggest an orange colored dress, too. Instead of a deep orange, try a lighter orange, or something that doesn't remind ppl too much of Halloween. A light brown would be nice, too, but you'd have to add more color so it wouldn't look too plain. Go to DavidsBridal.com to get some good ideas, even if you don't get your dresses from there. Good luck!

I went to a fall wedding about 17 years ago and it was one of the prettiest in memory. The bridemaids wore a deep emerald green dress, with gold (almost butterscoth colored )accents, including capes, and it was so pretty, and very different. Most people think of pastels for bridesmaids, so bold colors really stand out in people's minds,

First off tell your bridesmaid that it is your wedding and that is what you want and maybe if they are willing to come to you in a calm manner and express their dislike it might help in changing your mind. I like the chocolate idea and burgandy will be pretty too. Orange is a pretty color especially with a fall theme.

Good Luck.
