Anyone have any ideas how to set up the tables at a cocktail & h'doureve wedding reception. Usually they are set with plates and silverware, etc for a dinner. We have centerpieces and there will be table cloths, but do we leave the table empty? If anyone can think of something to put on the table to make it look not so stark and empty I'd appreciate feedback. Sprinkling confetti is the only thing I've come up with. Thanks.

My brother is getting married in May. They are not planning to have a cake. They are having a chocolate fondue fountain with strawberries and some sort of cream puff things. Is this a new trendy thing, or is it just weird? Do I need to have a talk with my little brother, or should I follow my dad's advice and "just leave him alone"?

I know when a lot of people get married they're on a budget. Not everyone is super rich with parents that will pay for everything. I've never been one to just splurge no matter how much money is in my bank account. I've always thought it would be a good idea to borrow things you can use at a wedding because it includes the guest a little more. For instance I borrowed some beautiful silver serving trays and stands to use at my wedding, table clothes, and other supplies. Its better than renting the those things or buying them when you have no where in your home to keep them afterwards. Does anyone do this, even for birthdays or other occasions? Its kind of like a treasure hunt for useful things from those that you love...:)

I'm designing my sister's wedding shower invitation, and I have no idea what is 'normal' for it. Are they usually folded once like a card or twice and sectioned in 3 columns? Is there a traditional size and layout? I want to make this as traditional as possible and the design fun and creative. I'm not sure where to start. Any info would be so helpful, thanks!

I am getting married apr 7 and my fiance has moved in, but nobody knows yet except her brother (since he has the house that she is supposed to be living at) We are mailing out the invitations and her brother is now mad at her, so we can't use his address..........so who's address should we put as the return address? mine? parents? If it is the party paying for the wedding, we are both paying for it......what do I do?

Just doing some market research. I am particularly interested in what Australians think about this idea.
Have you used one or would you use one? Do you know anyone who has used one?
Thanks.

I've seen it a lot on TV recently and I was wondering if it was just a preference thing, or if you would wear one because you are debutante or something.

So this video is fake? It would sure seem so. Is has been said she is an aspiring actress from Canada. But have you check out her Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/jodibehan) and Facebook(http://www.facebook.com/s.php?q=Jodi+Behan)? Would and aspiring actress have spaces that are either empy or don't really say anything about her? Doesn't seem like she hopes to do any acting soon, unless it is on YouTube!

While I was reading the wedding invitation sent to me and my girlfriend from my coworker, I didn't recognize who the two people were who were requesting our attendance at their wedding. You see, I didn't know Su, my coworker, was short for Suzanne. And I thought her boyfriend's first name was Van, yet on the invitation his name reads Jean-Peter Van-Wouw Himsteren.
I want for my working relationships to remain working relationships. For my personal relationships I'd like to leave them personal. I have a lot of things to do, a large family with whom I like to share a lot of myself and a job I love that takes up a lot of my time.
I do not socialize with my coworker, nor have i ever in the past 5 years of working with her have I ever talked with her on the phone after work hours are up. I met her husband-to-be only twice in the past 5 years.
I like my coworker and admire her enthusiasm. I am happy for her, her mate and her family she is, at 40 years old, getting married.
Should I go?

The wedding in March 17th, but I've already gotten 2 checks from people for wedding gifts. Both are also attending the wedding according to the RSVP cards. Should I do a thank you now, then a thank you for attending the wedding as well? Or it is OK to wait until after the wedding & just send 1 note?

I am getting married and having a difficult time choosing the colour for my girls...I love the idea of black dresses with a baby pink accent. I also like a deep magenta colour. The problem is some people look at black as bad luck and the colour of death as oppose to the traditional pure white for a wedding. Though I like the magenta I'm finding it hard to match accesories such as flowers, invitations etc. And I always go back to black. Can someone help??

I don't really want to get married, but if I did, it wouldn't be a traditional wedding. I would want to elope or have only closest friends and immediate family.

I'm planning to get married in August of this year. We want to have a romantic and intimate wedding with a guest list of 50 close family and friends. But we don't want to go into any debt troubles, so we've set our budget at $2000-$5000. We choosen to have a island theme wedding since we both love the Bahamas. How could we obtain such a beautiful and romantic wedding without breaking the set budget or the bank?
