I would rather have a vail than a tiara. But honestly a vail doesnt look te best on everyone. Its sometimes just too much and it looks messy. Some believe it looks more like a "princess" thing with the tiara, and thats really the look they are going for.
Its really just about the girls attitude and personality when it comes to tiaras or wearing the Vail.
There are just some styles on wedding dresses that I wouldnt wear anywhere, but others feel different.

Many wear Tiaras to feel Princess like. The Veil goes back to Medevil times when a womans face was kept covered to keep her from evil spirits before the wedding.
It is completely up to the bride what she prefers now is what she wears.
I personally, if I do it again,(they say third time is the charm) will wear either a ring of flowers or autumn leaves.

I actually wore a tiara and a veil at my wedding. They headpieces on a bride is usually a tiara and a veil. Usually you wear both and then at the reception you can take out the veil so it doesn't get in the way or caught on anything.

I will be more than likely wearing a tiara on my wedding day and not a veil - when i tried on my mum's veil, it just didn't look the best and I didn't really want anything hanging in front of my face.
The tiara will be put in when I get my hair done - and it is also my mum's.
It all depends on personal choice and what looks best

Its all just personal opinion and how you want to look and feel on YOUR wedding day. I don't think customs have changed or anything it is all just the feeling of a princess on your wedding day I think. I am going to do both, a small tiara and a vail. It all depends on the look you are going for.

I think it's a matter of personal preference. I mean,,,when else (unless you are a Miss America contestant) other than your wedding can you wear a tiara? My friend switched out her veil for a tiara to wear at the reception. It looked beautiful.

It's preference. I wore a ring of daisies around my head instead of a veil. I didn't want to have that material in my face all day long. Tiara's are nice because it's your day to feel like a princess. The veil is a religious symbol I believe.

I wore both. My tiara was very small, but added that little bit of sparkle to match the dress. I think a lot of women look at their wedding day as their one day to be a princess, so the tiara fits with that idea.

It's just preferance. A lot of women don't like what the veil represents (or what they think it represents). Also, some of them want very complicated hair styles and don't want the veil to cover it up. On TV, they might be asked to not wear a veil, since it's harder to control what the veil is doing (like if it's hanging funny or blowing around).

It's partly preference and partly trend. If you go into a bridal shop tiaras are everywhere. 20 years ago the trend was big white satin flowers with sprays of pearls hanging down.
I had both. The veil was attatched to my tiara.
